Link has courage, which means he has the courage to do whatever he wants...
Ganon has a tendacy to be bad
Zelda... being wise... is always good...

So... I suppose I wouldn't mind being good or bad... but it would be through link...
-Or you could have alternate characters that changes the way the game is played... (like A prince of Persia guy... or a Sorceress...)
Otherwise... I Ganon wouldn't really do much... he'd just sit back and tell his minions to do his bidding...

Actually, I think it would be interesting if Link had no real affiliation. Maybe his aim isn't to save the world, or he's only in it for his personal gain.

We would be denying what makes him him and forcing him into a role that he isn't...

I suppose he could go into temples and such on his own...

Now you maybe on to something here. It would be a much younger Ganondorf (duh) but right now, he's sorta stuck in the middle. Like, yeah, he's a pretty bad guy, but he's not completely evil yet. Remember a male Gerudo is only born every century. He's journey through out the desert for power is not so much about him (yet) as it is for his people, to make sure that his tribe/people live on and are recognize by western civilization (i.e. Hyrule). Through out his journey (much like other Zelda titles) this young Ganondorf does not only scour the desert, but other lands, going through dungeons and temples to find clues to this "unknown" power. And through out the entire game you make important decisions, slowly the man transforming the man into the villain that we all know and despise today.

This is but a quickly thought up concept though, I'm sure the rest of the holes and details would be filled out later.

You're in luck,on youtube,I saw a glitch where someone took control of Dark Link during the fight in OoT.
