Yes, that's all very well, but zelda doesn't look like the sort of person who would want to go out and kill off all types of baddies, when she should be running her kingdom, that and I doubt link is stupid enough to be kidnapped by ganondorf

No, that would be the direct opposite of cool. Ganon's already spent an entire game trying to have Link murdered (see AoL), and that didn't work out. If you want to play as a princess and rescue the hero, go play Super Princess Peach.

The CD-i Zeldas wouldn't have been any better if you pallette-swapped Link into Zelda's place. I think since Zelda has a completely different moveset from Link it would make a game with an entirely new feel, much more based on exploration and puzzle-solving. Plus if she could transform into Shiek it would be AWESOME, because then you could pretty much run around Hyrule as a sweet ninja!

No. Not cool, at least for me. For one, I never liked the character of Zelda and I would especially be annoyed to play as her. I mean it would provide an interesting feel to the game as mentioned but I wouldn't go for it. She just always pissed me off and I never found her personality any interesting. I'm a girl too and I wouldn't even go for the "girl hero saves guy" idea. It would be degrading to link as well. Idk it could work but the whole thing just seems terrible to me.

On paper, no, it's not. Mildly unrealistic maybe, but not a horrible one. In practice? Not so much. The way I see it, the overwhelming majority of Zelda fans would prefer to play as Link. The game would be a failure commercially, and quite possibly critically. It could really damage the series.

Not a whole game, but maybe a way to control Zelda for some parts of a dungeon or two, similar to the Amigo system in Sonic the Hedgehog '06. Add in a Sheik transformation, and it's a good concept. Just make sure it's not for very long, have Link still be the main character you play as.

It WOULD be cool to play as Ganondorf, but why? Does Link try to get the whole Triforce for himself, so he has to kill Zelda and Ganondorf, so Ganondorf tries to stop him?

Honestly, I think a bigger revolution would be making "the legend of Zelda" actually center around Zelda. Not "save her because that saves hyrule", but have a very strong intricate story that all revolves around what Zelda has done in the past and what she has to do in the future to prevent other things from happening.

Playing as Zelda isn't a "bad" concept, but there would be no reason to save Link... his life doesn't control Hyrule.
