Lightbulb Link and Pit

There's no doubt that SSBB made the character Pit more popular. With many new fans and a new 3D design, Pit is in an excellent position to star in a new game. Now Why am I telling you this in a Zelda website? Here's why. The Kid Icarus series, which Pit is from is partially based off of mythology and it also involves Pit using weapons as far as I know. The Zelda series is partially based off of mythology and it also involves Link using weapons. Now, wouldn't it be cool if Link and Pit had to work together in order to fight evil? They could totally be part of the same universe. The player would need to switch between Link and Pit in order to fight different enemies and complete different puzzles. Pit of course would be able to fly, which is why someone would want to use him. Something like this could turn out to be an excellent, original game. Also it would be in 3D with Twilight Princess graphics.

Re: Link and Pit

Firstly, you talk about being based of mythology and using weapons, that pretty much describes half of all videogame series.

Secondly, no crossovers besides Super Smash Bros., although Mario Kart with other Nintendo chars might work.

Re: Link and Pit

^agreed. keep the crossovers in Smash please. lets say you add pit? now you have to add Kid Icarus to the zelda canon making a bigger mess than it already is.

Re: Link and Pit

Even Super Mario Brothers was originally based off of mythology, but never the less, a Zelda title with Pit in it could be good. I don't think they will do it, but it is a fun idea.

Re: Link and Pit

I think that Smash Bros. will satisfy my craving for crossover. (Though I will admit, the Story mode was a little shoddy.)

And please elaborate on how Legend of Zelda is based on Mythology and not Tolkienese fantasy? I may be a little confused since I'm only just playing the original on the Virtual Console.

Pretty much everything fantasy-related, including games, movies and other stories, since LotR has been inspired in some sort or way by the Tolkien Legendarium. There's pretty much no denying it, even Zelda has a few traces of Tolkien...

Some stuff in the Tolkien Legendarium has also been based on previous mythologies, though, most prominently the Christian and Norse mythologies.

Re: Link and Pit

Just because Pit and Link were in Brawl, doesn't mean a game should be made with both.

Now, an RPG Zelda based game with JUST Pit would make sense.

I don't recall any myths about Prometheus throwing turtle shells at monsters or Hurcules jumping across a large sidescrolling plain.

Anyway, No just wouldn't work. Crossovers in general are a bad idea (with the exception of SSB, SCII, and Mario Kart).

Re: Link and Pit

Link is meant to be a Hero and a hero alone. Same goes for Pit, Mario, Sonic, Solid Snake, and definitely Samus.

It doesn't have to be from Greek or Roman mythology. Mario is more taken from Japanese mythology. Its like Link being though of as a samuari or ninja. They have a goal in mind and will stick to it until it is done. And I think that Zelda characters will sort of stick out like a sore thumb in a Mario Kart game. Think about it, it has Mario in the title so it should stick with Mario characters. Now if it was something like Nintendo Kart (or something else) then I'll be fine with different characters. But characters should stick in games with their own title...unless it was Super Smash Bros.

Re: Link and Pit

I always thought it'd be cool if a 3D sequel to kid icarus was made

The game has the same potential that OoT had to be one of the best 3D games ever

If done right it could be amazing

Hm, I don't know about this idea but I have realized that those two fight a bit similar.

There was an old interview where Shigeru Miyamoto said they were trying to get a Kid Icarus for the Wii.

Re: Link and Pit

It seems as though Link and Pit will never meet each other, except if it's in a cameo. If Pit made a cameo appearance in a future Zelda title, it would be pretty cool. It would also be cool if there was some kind of mural on a castle wall that depicted Pit, Paletuna, and his army of angel-things (from his final smash), in a battle against monsters.

Yes, they should make a new Kid Icuras game, no it should not involve Link.

i like the idea of a new 3D kid icuras game. done sorta like zelda, your pit, and you solve puzzles, vanquish demons, all that kinda stuff...sounds really cool.
