A Haunted Mansion dungeon?
Hello everybody, I'm currently designing my own Zelda story (Like DarkVaati and GamenerdAdvance), and am currently stuck on the last normal dungeon...the ever elusive non-elemental dungeon.
Now I'm considering a Haunted Mansion-ish dungeon, like Snowpeak Ruins meets Luigi's Mansion. Please come up with ideas and a good dungeon item.

Flip through this thread and get some ideas from this:

Re: A Haunted Mansion dungeon?
Some sort of magical item [like the Garo Mask or the Lens of Truth] that lets you reveal otherwise unaccessible things. Whether it be letting you talk to ghosts, see invisible things etc..

I know how I'm gonna make it, no blood or other gore, but many sprits, ReDeads and maybe some normal enemies... ReDeads will be fast now, though, as it will probably scare you more if an hard to kill enemy suddenly appears fom nowhere and starts running after you while screaming. The boss will be a huge black phantom dragon, named Umbramentus, on which you have to use the dungeon item to make it materialize again, so you can kill it. It will have a somewhat large, possibly segmented, tail with some kind of orb-ish thing as a tail (similar to Puppet Ganon). Using the Chainclaw (my story's hookshot) or Ball & Chain on it's tail, the weapon will wrap around it's tail and it will pull them out of Link's hands, after which he can use them against you. It won't be the classical European dragon (like Aquamentus), nor the Japanese Dragon (like Volvagia), but like a cross between Ridley and Rajaion (Mad King Ashnard's mount from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance). The boss will ofcourse die flying in the air, screaming while it's tail-segments explode one after another, after which it will crash and explode itself. You'll see the boss multiple times in the dungeon, but not fight in in any way: most of the time it quickly flies by, making you fearing a fight with a strong boss, and perhaps destroying/activating something to make your journey somewhat harder. There won't be any more major OoT references like the Lens/Mask of Truth, 6of the 8 dungeons are already based on those in OoT, although they're much different. I'd like to have more references to the 2D games, which made me return an old item in a new form: The Magic Cape, now called the Phantom Cloak/Cape. It turns Link into a spirit (while draining your magic), allowing you to talk to other spirits and making other enemies neglect you. It also allows you to enter paintings and mirrors, thus expanding the size of the dungeon itself. It will only be one of the 2 dungeon items (thus there will also be atleast 2 minibosses), as I also want an item you really use... A new one if possible. Please suggest/create another dungeonitem for me, guys, one that will somehow work with the boss I currently have.

Re: A Haunted Mansion dungeon?
The way I've thought of it, was the "game" to be using TWW's graphics... And although TP's graphics would also work, I just feel TWW's style wil fit better.
