What if Zelda had an Animal Crossing style clock? Because the Wii has a clock and calendar, it could be night time in real life, and night time in the game. There could be whole weeks in the game, characters could have some complex MM style schedules
. There could be different seasons. Could you imagine running through a snow covered Hyrule field? An autumn Hyrule field? I think it would be cool.Because of Wiiconnect24 and the weather channel, you could have the option of using real weather, if it was a rainy day, it would be raining in Zelda. Just an idea, I think it would be kinda neat , especially if they used it to bring back complex schedules for characters like in MM. I wouldn't want the time, day or seasons to effect the main quest too much. Maybe you could only get a certain side-quest at a particular time of day, or only access a heart piece in a certain season. It might make the game last longer.

Re: Real time and weather
I'd rather the game have its own time/weather system. I found Elder Scroll's IV: Oblivion's time/weather system to be perfect. If anything, it should be like that. If the game is constantly connected to the internet though, it'll cause -- and considering the Wii's crappy online service, you could expect to see it very often.

Re: Real time and weather
Shush you . I would love it because if you are impatient and don't like the real-weather just change the WII's clock to the season you want and you can basically time travel. I disagree about real time weather and I think Hyruel should have it's own climate with a built in game weather system in sync with the seasons. Each year which would re loop would offer different weather and sometimes out of season weather due to an extreme air mass of that time of year.

Re: Real time and weather
I can't say I'd like either of these in a Zelda game. The time system they have in place now is fine with me, though I wouldn't mind it being a little more dynamic and meaningful, not to mention longer. I loved the things that would happen in OoT, such as Hyrule Town locking its gates, or the Gerudo Fortress becoming more difficult to maneuver about.
Weather? I think it would be very interesting to see a built in dynamic weather system in an upcoming Zelda game. Sure, it wouldn't relate to the real-world weather, but having a sunny Hyrule field one day, and then it progressively get darker and darker until a thunderstorm blows through would be very cool indeed. |

Re: Real time and weather
No real time. However I would love it if they made the daytime and the nighttime longer. They should make day and night as long as it was in MM in the newer Zeldas.
Also the weather system should be different too. It should be like every 10 or so game days the season changes. As for rain, it should rain on random days. |

Re: Real time and weather
If I were to get a game like this for Christmas, than I would probably beat it before it's spring. That means that I've gone through the whole game when there's winter in Hyrule. I don't like that idea. Often times in Zelda games there are major differences between day and night. I don't want to be limited by the time of day that I'm playing. Sure, I could change the Wii's internal clock, but that would require going back to the Wii menu instead of playing the sun's song or something easier. It would be cool if there was a "song of seasons" that Link could play to change the seasons.

Re: Real time and weather
I like the idea of weather change, but I don't think it should be real time. For one, those that would like to see snow and it doesn't snow where they live, wouldn't get to experience it.
And time change (Like time system from Majora's Mask) would be nice.

Re: Real time and weather
In TP, if I want to see snow, I go to the snowpeak province. In OoT, if I want it to rain, I play the song of storms.

Re: Real time and weather
i dont think real time and weather would work out to well. imagine you only have the chance to play the game at night, so you would actually be stuck playing through the whole adventure at night, which could have a possibility of not having a chance to access everything.
as for weather. it would just sucked it you lived in a place were it rains every single day. you would pretty much never be able to see any other weather in the game

Re: Real time and weather
I don't know about real-time, but a regular cycle with variety could be nice. I think it would be neat if the weather effected the environment and the people and the commerce of the game. Also, the weather could become harsher as the game progresses, as if it were caused by the antagonist.
