How about a FPS/Action Adventure game where some spots are FPS style but the ahem "towns" are normal Zelda style with really crappy NPCs as usual and one minigame per town. But the towns will have more relistic artwork in them when you can go in the 2 houses to explore
What about magic in this FPS? You can cast differnt spells which do light to severe damage and maybe a line system where you can strike enemies in a line. then, everyone can get wiped out if they are in the right place at the right time so time your attacks carefully
As you progress through the game you will gain new spells and weapons. maybe weapons that can be combined with magic: Fire magic+ Boomerang equals Firerang which is surrounded by fire and goes flying at your baddies and buring anything flamable in your path. That will make innoventive weapons that's for sure.
