If I was to make a Zelda Game....

Honestly, this just came to me really quickly, but as a Zelda Game I think it would be good. It would need a lot more added to deepen the plot, but it has things that I havn't seen in a Zelda game that I would like. If Zelda creators came through this thread on a browse for ideas (Though they probably don't) I'd love them to take some ideas from this. Here is my basic idea, I hope you like it:

Ganon, the King of Evil, is long forgotten, as he has been sealed away. (Where in the timeline this game would go, I have no idea.) Though as always he finds someway out. As nobody knows of him, he makes himself appear as more of a God than a man, using his triforce of Power, kind of like he appeared to Zant. Ganon sweeps the world, as the new God. The three Godesses of Hyrule arn't extremely prominant, so people forgot about them. They subscribe to Ganon, and serve him as their Lord.

In the castle of Hyrule, the princess Zelda, aged 21 who holds the triforce of wisdom, has a revelation. For all her life, the story has been told to her of Ganon, the king of Evil of old. With her wisdom, she realises this new God is Ganon. No one believes her, so she remembers the other part of the story she was told. The Hero, Link. She searches Hyrule for his Descendant, and finds him. This Link holds the triforce of courage, aged also around 21. Link agree's with zelda once convinced by her. And she shows him he has the triforce of courage.

Together they try to tell hyrule of Ganons true identity, however everyone believes Ganon, not them. Upon almost giving up, the sages appear to them and tell them to get people to believe them, they need the master Sword, to defeat Ganon and prove he is nothing more than a mere man, with the triforce of power. Link gets the master sword, after completing some dungeons, that help him gain entry to the Temple of Time. However it is harder than they expected as Ganon is trying to stop them. At that stage Ganon, and his followers take Hyrule for themselves, however many people leave his side, as they don't think a God could be so cruel.

These people search Hyrule for followers, while Link and Zelda go to Ganons castle, and he reveals himself as the man Gannondorf, which they defeat promptly. Upon this many people join Links and Zelda's side, however there are just as many who are in Ganons evil graps. Just as many who are his committed loyal servants, who won't leave him, despite all logic. Upon Gannondorfs defeat, Link and Zelda flee, with all their followers and prepare an army to wipe out Ganons minions. Ganon's army also prepares themselves, and the result is a massive battle in Hyrule Field. Mainly on horseback Link and Zelda fight with their men, a massive battle. Link's side triumphs. However a last surprise comes. Ganon is not defeated and appears as Ganon in the giant pig/ bull form. Many people on Link and Zeldas side, are convinced Ganon is again God, so they join his side, and are quickly possessed by Ganon. Link and zelda, don't stand a chance, until the sages come to thier aid, with the light arrows. With ganons army defeated, they also defeat Ganon. Yet before he dies they force the Triforce of power out of him. We don't see what they do with it, as that is the end. A destructed Hyrule, A Dead Ganon, and a loose piece of the Triforce of Power. Link and Zelda then need to work on restoring the Hyrule they set out to save yet really destroyed.

Making the game would be hard because as described above Zelda has a larger role than usual, and it seems like you'd almost have to play as her, so that would need to be worked on. I think maybe controlling both is an option, as they would be together most of the time. I don't think Link should be saving Zelda, I think they should be saving Hyrule together. As much as I'd like to see the FierceDiety and Majora again, I think this plot actually works, and is a possibility. I like ideas from it, yet not all of them. I don't like the total destruction, yet I like everybody involved, in the battle.

So, what do you think??

This sounds like it could make a good game.

Maybe the story has to be tweaked a bit, it needs a non-cliché story twist somewhere, but it has potential.
Zelda has to be playable since she plays almost the part of the main character, at least until she finds Link.

Coperation would be good solution. Maybe similar to RE0 were you can play as both characters at once (one is used by the AI), but you can split up at any time to solve puzzels and stuff.

Some parts of the game should force you to seperate, the best place would probably be tempels or some parts of the storyline (like the beginning were you play only as Zelda).
Link and Zelda should be given team actions, that they can only execute when they are together (like Link taking Zelda on her shoulders to reache stuff that is too high).
Link can stay pretty much unchanged since he has everything that one needs for a fight/adventure.

Zelda however needs some changes. I can see her as having a bow or crossbow, as a spacing, sneaking and sniping character that needs to keep some room between herself and the enemy. This would also create some awesome sneaking missions.
I can see her as having a higher magicbar and having higher running speed but less stamina. Ofcourse she needs a secondary weapon, like a small dagger or something, if she should be forced to do close combat.
Another possibility would be to give her some magic attacks.
Her clothes of course have to change, no one likes to fight in a royal gown.
She needs to stay incognito since the people of the "Ganon-religion" are after her, so her royal outfit would be a bad choice anyway.

Link and Zelda should be given different talents. Maybe Link could be able to push lift things that Zelda can not. Zelda could be given some knowledge based talents like reading/translating ancient scripts to get clues in temples.

I will think about possible story improvements later.

i kinda agree, but Link needs to get totally awsm weps. kinda like how he does in twilight princess and all, like his ball and chain he gets.

i think you should make it that the player chooses which side they go on, since Ganon already knows that Zelda is after the desendent of link, so is Ganon, they both arrive at the same time and you have to choose then.

yeah that sounds good probably should do that so someone can be with Link's side or ganon-dork's side

This story really has potential, because it involves all of Hyrule instead of a select few characters from previous games. An ending like this would would also allow for the rise of a new evil, or the resurrection of Ganondorf...

Thank you for your analysis. I like your suggestions, and definately that the plot would need furthur development, but has potential.

Well weapons in this game are something I havn't yet thought about. I think this game would work best with similar graphics, and weapons to TP, just like OoT and MM work together, however for the plot to work the Link would have to be different! So I agree weapons like the ball and chain would be good. I would think this game would take on an overall kinda "dark" feeling.

I'm not following what you're meaning exactly. are you meaning for the player to choose between playing as Link or Zelda, or to choose whether to be on Ganons or Links side or...? I'm afriad I'm not following you.
