Monkeys live inside the Sun. Fact.

Well that was wierd.

It's not often that I have VG related dreams, but I did last night and it was quite a strange one.

Long story short, it involved a new Wii game, a TP sequel (using the same engine) that took place inside a Desert-y kind of world, in which the sun looks incredibly large. There was a desert city in the middle, and Link had a mechanism (which I dub the 'Sun Anchor') which could raise and lower the sun in the sky to somehow affect gameplay. Link had a monkey living inside his hat as a companion and there was an advanced, layered dungeon-y world inside the sun (about 20 times the size of a proper dungeon) populated by a friendly, intelligent monkey race.

Of course, it all sounds a bit strange, but somehow I think I could make a good game idea out of this.

Discuss.

"Long ago, some animals that wouldn't ever fit with other of their own races, were forced to live in a vast dessert forgotten by the Gods. Years passed, the animal civilization managed to advance more in technology and created an immense city where it was close to the sun. Suddenly, one lonely and dark night, a group of scorpion-like humanoids, decided to ambush the city. The animals managed to drive them out of the city. At that night, they took the decision of creating an anchor that would rise and lower the Sun. When they finished the anchor, they named it, The Sun's Anchor. When the scorpion-like humanoids heard of this, they decided to attack at dawn, when the Sun was suppose to begin to lower. They attacked the city and ambushed the manager of the Sun's lowering. Since that moment, the animals lived in a chaos filled slavery moments. From the dark and windy dessert, rised a man whom had a sword and killed all of the scorpions in hes way. When he reached the top of the tower of the Sun's level, he saw how the leader of the scorpions laughted at the attempt to stop them. The leader introduced himself to be Scorzand and to be leader of the Sanpions. When he attempted to raise hes tail and kill the man, the man rapidly dashed toward him and stcked hes sword in hes belly. Blood began to escape from hes mouth. Hes body was carried by the wind and was sucked by the sand. The Sanpions left the city and traveled back to their hole. The animals lived happily and ever after"

"Now, a thousand years have passed. A boy named Link and hes monkey companion, Moky, have been asigned to protect the Sun's Level Tower from any evil or beast that gets close to it. One night, a Sanpion tries to attack Link and Moky. Komy wakes up from the cold and sees the Sanpion. He rapidly wakes Link and he grabs hes sword and sticks it in the moster's back. The monster falls to the ground and faints. Link and Moky, distracted by their victory, didn't noticed that the Sanpion awakes and climbs the chain that hold the anchor. Link and Moky noticed that the Sanpion had awaken, but it was too late, the Sanpion was close to the Sun and its anchor. With its claw melting by the Sun's heat, it attacked the anchor and he destroyed it. The monster fell into the sands and the anchor divided into four pieces. The dessert was filled with shadows as the night was covering the place. Suddenly, a massive earthquake began to tremble and it awaked all of the animals. A hole began to appear in the middle of the place where Scorzand fell. Now, Link must find the four pieces of the Sun's Anchor if he wants to save the dessert from the terrible chaos thats about to happen. But, will Link and Moky succeed? And what will arise from the hole in the sands?"

Cool idea. Have you considered a job as storywriter for Nintendo? Sounds like you could do it in your sleep XD

Re: Well that was wierd.

If it wasn't a dream, I don't know how much credit you would have gotten....

But... the monkey sounds a bit weird.... It sort of reminds me of bringing diddy into TP and then pretending everythings cool... nothings abnormal.........

I could see if they used a nice shadow engine then they can make it like realife where it would effect your enemies eyesight and it would be hard for them to see you and retaliate from your attacks when the suns behind you (Musashi)

Also... add in some stealth situations when you make it night time
Maybe add in a new weapon that stores light from teh sun and uses it in a laser beam...... <.<

Noon could allow you to see things clearly....

I imediately imagined Link in the Gerudo Desert perhaps meeting another male besides Ganon... this ones a bit.... nicer.... but cocky...... but chill........

The way I see the desert though is its dangerous...
-You never know when a scorpians going to strike.... or a snake.... yet it rarely happens...

Could be something similar....

As for your community inside the sun.... is there a way to get to it?

I've definately considered it, but I get the feeling that Nintendo isn't going to employ a 19-year old working-class British boy to write their scripts.

Re: Well that was wierd.

I think its a very interesting idea with the sun-anchor, it would be intresting to see what kind of machine it would be, that could actually effecting something as big as the sun, hopefully retaining some realism. But I don't like monkeys in my hat. ^_^

And a massive dungeon in the sun, populated with MORE monkeys? Firstly it sounds like you would have to return to it multiple times, and I didn't like that in PH. Also, I was annoyed by the monkeys in TP, so having a dungeon full of them...

Re: Well that was wierd.

It still sounds like in interesting game; Maybe it's the Nex Zelda we are looking for.
Maybe their could be a women Geroudo town and a Man Gerudo town which will explain why you only see women Gerudo. Perhaps, you could somehow bring peace so they can live in harmony with each other somehow as a side quest? They bad news is if there is no towns and or overworld to explore then the game sounds boring with a capital B unless you put settlements like my thread in one of the areas for my next new Zelda game.

Now here is the bad news; In real Hyrule: the sun's physics would still work and you wouldn't even get 100s of thousands of miles to the sun before you burned up into nothing. unless, those monkeys have lots of sun screen and even if they and their dungeon somehow did become burn-proof; they would get sick from ultraviolet rays since their city wouldn't be protected by this tiny layer called the O-zone which helps sustain life.

Like I said they would have to somehow be but special to withstand the ultraviolet plus they would not be able to operate anything electric due to strong electromagnetic storms.
