I don't see what voice acting and sales have to do anything with each other. It might piss a few Zelda fans off, sure. But it might be a whole different realm of storytelling experience that brings that player closer to the characters, the plot, and the storytelling itself. Worked with the Final Fantasy series pretty well.
Nintendo has put voice acting in many of their long time franchises. Most recently, Metroid Prime 3 was introduced to voice acting that did nothing but make the game that much more epic.
