Designing your own character.

Link looks different in every game anyway, so why not?

I think it'd be cool to customize and design your own character at the start of the game, instead of just the name.

What do you think?

No way. Link is such an iconic image in the gaming industry, the basic formula (the hair, the hat, the tunic etc) should not be messed with, it'd be like being able to customise Mario. Wrong, wrong, wrong.

It could happen but I don't think that it should be at the start of the game. Partway through the game Link should be able to go to a tailor who will change his tunic so that maybe it won't have sleeves or something. Or maybe the next temple will be going to a cold place and I want his tunic to be more like a coat. He wouldn't need this but it would fit the theme. It wouldn't hurt to have Link have tanner skin. Maybe he could even wear armor that would have not affect on him. All of this would be for fun.

I agree with thorn. Link's image should not be changed. However I think it would be neat if there was a tunic that you could acquire in the game that is customizable. Like you choose from a selection of designs, colors, hats, boots, ect.

Anyway, I like what Sage said. That would be awesome. Maybe change the hair too? Dye or a barber would be a funny twist to a Zelda game

like, start off as the original Link, but make it able to custom your character throughout the game(armor, tunics, boots, swords, shields, etc...RPG Zelda anyone?)

Nah, like THorn stated....Link is basically the Zelda brand logo. He can never leave his Green tunic behind just like mario with his red cap.

This is sorta what I do. I usually wear the Blue Tunic, Mirror Shield, and Biggoron Sword. While my friend wears the Green Tunic, Hylian Shield, and Master Sword.

So it's sorta like we are customizing our Link. We just don't get a lot to choose from.

Link doesn't look too different in each game- we've still got a scrawny elf boy in green, no matter which Link we're talking about. I think customizing Link beyond what we've already got is going to be too much. He's much too iconic.

In any other game yes, Zelda; NO. Link is the icon. The only uniqueness you can create is the same as OOT switching shields & tunics. Apart from that no.

Customising his tunics, boots, swords and shields - yes. It could be like Ocarina of Time, but maybe more options. Some could be necessary and have effects, some could just be there for fun.

It would be cool if Link could wear a skull necklace or a knight's crest from wind waker. In wind waker Link could get a mask to wear. Masks do change appearance. Also, in Majora's Mask, Link's transforms when he puts a mask on. That's a great change of Link's appearance and a lot of you are saying that Link's image should not change. Link doesn't always have to wear green. In Wind Waker, after beating the game once, you can start a new file with Link wearing a blue shirt with a lobster design on it, orange pants, and sandals. It won't hurt for Link's image to be altered a little.

It would be cool if Link's clothes looked more Greek or Roman. Link is kind of like the Greek hero Achilles. In the Trojan War, the Greeks fought poorly without Achilles. Without Link, Hyrule would have been ruled by Ganondorf for centuries. The Greeks wore tunics anyway.

But on super Mario 64 u can lose your hat purposely

Link should always have the option of wearing his green hat and tunic. What if they were different styles? That would be cool.
