I have been brainstorming - Zelda Story Idea
So, with me planning on making a Zelda fan-game sometime in the future, I have been casually brainstorming ideas. With a bit of inspirational help from Project Nayru, I think I've got the perfect idea. Please, CONSTRUCTIVE CRITISISM PEOPLE!!! I don't want any flaming or bashing here; just nice, clean comments. If you don't like it, explain why and give suggestions. If you have nothing nice or constructive to say, please refrain from posting here. Thank you.
So, this game is meant to take place as the Great Flood in between OoT and WW. It does star Link, but it has a wealth of supporting characters. Sheik makes a comeback, as well as the three goddesses. So, the prolouge explains the events of OoT. Simple enough. But the 'behind the scenes' beggining (The thing that happens that you don't learn about until later) is this. Ganondorf was locked away in the Sacred Relm, which is the closest place to the goddesses. Him being a strong willed and powerfull man, still in the possession on the ToP, he managed to influence the goddess of Power, Din. It was far short of mind control; oh no. Simply a bit of influence. He warped her judgment and caused her to do something unthinkable; she sealed the goddesses away from the sacred relm. Being detatched from their sacred world, the goddesses lost controll of most of their powers, and became simple humans. Ganondorf broke free, and took controll of Din. Having controll of the ToP and Din, Ganondorf was nearly as powerfull as a god himself. Nayru and Farore fled, and split up to find their last hopes; the holders of the other two triforce peices, the reincarnations of Link and Zelda. So, as the story progresses, your partner becomes Farore, who takes the form of a small bird. You eventually meet Sheik, who is Zelda's discuise (for those of you who somehow don't know. ) that she took to help protect Nayru and search for Link. The normal story progresses (I don't know all the specifics yet) and you learn that Ganondorf is now too powerfull to cope with in the normal way; the only way to defeat him and protect the land is to seal away the ToP, save Din and lock Ganon away under an entire ocean. So, in the final battle, your goal is to seal away the ToP, re-open the Sacred Relm, and defeat Ganndorf, while trying to avoid harming Din.So, does it sound like an interesting story? Keep in mind that this is my first rough draft; it could really use some touching up. But thats where you come in; I want your critisism, support and suggestions! Thanks again for reading! |

Re: I have been brainstorming - Zelda Story Idea
Mm...
I don't really like the idea of Din being able to stop both of the other goddesses. Also, I doubt Ganon has either the power or the eloquence to influence a Goddess. And why would Farore help you? The Goddessess created both Good and Evil, so why side with one or the other? It's a very nice storyline, it just doesn't fit with the rest of the series. |

Re: I have been brainstorming - Zelda Story Idea
I think it sounds interesting, maybe even plausible. The Goddesses don't have a very intricate role in the story, albeit being Goddesses, of course, and I would love to see them in a more informal and involved capacity. The thought of them being "cast out" and thrown amongst their denizens could be a pretty cool plot device.
My only interjection would be this: if the Goddesses are no longer in control, the world could then possibly be thrown into absolute physical and spiritual disorder. Nothing would function properly. Perhaps even the very fabric of Hyrule begins to unwind? Brother fights brother, the seas turn to desert, the sun refuses to shine. In a sense, Hyrule starts to revert back to the chaos from whence it was birthed. I do love the connection here between OoT and WW, as the flooding of the world was an act of desperation when the hero didn't show....or did he and within the legend he was forgotten? Keep working on it. I think you have a good start here.

Re: I have been brainstorming - Zelda Story Idea
Alright, I'm going to answer both of you at the same time here.
At first, Ganondorf did not have controll over Din, he just had faint influence. He warped her judgment and caused her to close off the sacred relm, cutting ALL THREE OF THEM from it. They lost control of most of their powers, and Ganon took advantage of it and took controll of Din. He had access to some of her power, and Nayru and Farore knew they would be no match for him (Having controll of both the weakened Din and the ToP), and they knew the only ones who could stand up to him would be Zelda and Link, the holders of the other two Triforce peices. I hope that clears things up. ![]() But now, refering to you guy's specificly; @DarkVaati: Din didn't beat both the others, she cut all three of them from the SR. And he had slight influence because he had the ToP, and he was in the SR, so close to the goddesses. And Farore is helping you because there is no other option; Ganondorf is more powerfull then her and Nayru. @GentleArtillery: Thanks. But no, Din has lost a lot of her power, too. Not all of it, but enough to be defeatable.@Cheato: ...what? @Doran_Bladefist: Thanks. Also, thats an interesting idea. I will keep it in mind. |

Re: I have been brainstorming - Zelda Story Idea
I'm sorry, it's a nice idea, but it just doesn't feel... Zelda.
The Goddesses have unimaginable power. They could stop the Fused Shadows, create a myriad worlds, make the TriForce, and flood the world. I highly doubt removing them from the Sacred Realm would sap their powers. It just doesn't flow. I think if you replaced the Goddesses with some other deity-like figures, who are substantially weaker, it may work. Possibly Eldin, Lanaryu, etc? |

Re: I have been brainstorming - Zelda Story Idea
I like it, makes sense... Ganon is rather influential... especially wit teh ladies.... if you get wut I mean.... he he... he.... ugh.... that wuz a joke... he actually has very poor tactics.... I've seen him get turned down sooooo many times.... I think thats why he's evil... ya know?
Anyway... 1) Ganon is a pimp 2) I feel like there should be a time limit to your adventure... and a goal for Ganon now that he has this power. What is Ganon trying to do with the power? Who is stopping him from doing it? 3) I'm digging Farore as your helper... I would hope Forere's wind is very easily used like Fire arrows or other magic would be... |
