Zelda Puzzles o' Awesomeness
Honestly... my mind doesn't have many idea for puzzles...
For intellectually stimulating gameplay... -However... I think this is a beautiful aspect of Zelda... Any Ideas? All I got is... -Maze -Need to use Faeore's wind to move to the other side of a wall that all of sudden pops up when you hit a switch -Unlit Bombs hold down switches for you, get to a higher location/different location and shoot the bomb to disable the switch and continue the puzzle -Rooms fill with lava at times and you need to use a hookshot/faeore's wind to escape it or hit a switch before the room fills up to stop it and open up a -Chain of reaction-line up inlit bombs, shoot one with an arrow, hit a switch and enter the room -Keep a monster in a room alive and use its attacks to hit switches that you can't hit yourself... -Abstract boss/enemy kills-Ganon from OoT is one example... I was also thinking an enemy you could only attack from above but they are tall... You have to bomb/attack them until they get next to a wall, hookshot above them, then attack them on the way down.. Other ideas Sage of Stars -Outside the box thinking -Command Melody triskiller -Cryptic Messages describing what you have to do khayoz -Water Currents zantdarksage -Look for hidden items/passage ways that have clues pointing to them (like walls you can walk through) -"mini bosses" walking around Hyrule that attack you, but are randomly generated or protect locations... --Making the real bosses harder and more interesting |

Re: Zelda Puzzles o' Awesomeness
The puzzle in Twilight Princess that you played with the statues in the Temple of Time was really original and difficult.
Some of the block pushing levels across the ice were pretty hard too. I can't really think of anything myself though... I think I'm more into a challenging task than a puzzle, like defeating a really hard enemy in the room before going onward. |

I liked the puzzles in wind waker that involved the use of the command melody. It's cool to play as someone or something else for a short period of time and also to think outside the box.

Explain the Statues? I've only played one zelda game and loved it... but I don't own it currently... I'm thinking about downloading it though... And pushing the blocks? I feel like thats not much of a puzzle though... just tedious... and patience testing... Temple of patience................... Quote:
-But sometimes I don't feel like I'm doing anything different with most puzzles... just following directions -I definitly want something weird... Like using Faoere's Wind to teleport back to an area that was cut off when I hit a switch... Thinking ahead of time... Making sure I can always backtrack when I get stuck in a room or its being filled with fire and I would die if I don't escape... A test of wits..... A test of preperation... Can you figure out what to do? -Maybe a random Puzzle generator? I agree... |

Re: Zelda Puzzles o' Awesomeness
My favorite puzzles are the ones within temples which requires a logical thought process to actually completing the temple. For example water temple. I'm not sure exactly what I would classify these type puzzles as, but still just the more involved they are the better. A temple which is just one big room with plenty of water and water changing mechanics (e.g. current and water level) would for example, be awesome.

I want to be logical in puzzles... but able to do them quickly.... -Also a random puzzle generator... using different ideas to complete an obstacle course......... but randomly generated so you'll have to adapt each time |

Re: Zelda Puzzles o' Awesomeness
this sounds gay, but like, think crystal maze haha.
that tv show with that creepy bald guy, they had rooms where you had to solve puzzles to get crystals or something. i'm thinking liike, shadow temple stuff. hidden things that aren't obvious, things like in the goron temple in MM, there was a stray fairy on a ledge where you just jumped through the wall, things like that. on another note, i think they need to make boss difficulty enemies as some normal enemies then boss enemies HARD. like, omg i died 3 times already hard. though how to kill bosses are almost always the same, they need enemies where it isn't just.... slash.

I was thinking one boss could be like you bomb/push him towards a wall... -You hookshot above him... then come down and slash him... Something thats a little more complex then the normal slash/arrow situation... |

so a 'difficult' enemy, would be walking around hyrule, maybe a few/couple. perhaps blocking a passageway, you know, those typical bosses we have but outside of temples. then i meant, since the regular bosses we have now would be around hyrule/land of the game, we would have HARDER bosses in the temples, since the standards have been raised. for example, i don't know, you could chase the boss through different landscapes, like goht, but not a circle, through a forest?, with different platforms like the entrance waterfall to zoras domain. there you'd like, attack from different points, just something harder. see what i mean?
