Legend of Zelda: Shadow of Beasts

This is kinda long; but should be a good read.

Well it seems like everyone is making up there own game. I thought I would give it a try. I am fully aware that Miyamoto is going to come in here and use it. Which is why I created it for more of a story idea then anything.

Also this would take place sometime after TP, it would be a new Link.

Legend of Zelda: Shadow of Beasts

The Back Story:

Long ago before Hyrule was united, a beast of darkness reigned over the land. Because the land lacked any unity, this beast was able to crush any resistance. The beast received a nickname from the Sheikah tribe, Shendow that translates "Beast of Darkness." It is said that a single Sheikah, wielding three powerful weapons fought the beast. Defeating the beast he sealed it away. Ever since the Sheikah have guarded the sealed beast in hopes it would never return.

The Three objects: The Mask of Truth, The Lens of Truth, and the Blade of Shadow proved to be to powerful for any one man. Several men found possession of these artifacts and nearly destroyed the Sheikah way. The Sheikah Council knew that destroying these objects could prove a costly mistake. Instead they broke them apart and built temples hidden throughout the land of Hyrule.

The Lens of Truth was broken into three pieces.
The Mask of Truth into three pieces
The Blade of Shadows was broken into three pieces.

Only the one who has the power to retrieve each piece is allowed to wield them.

Many Sheikah over the years have attempted to create these objects.(this explains the Mask of Truth and Lens of Truth in OoT) They failed miserable, it was true that some held similar power the legend claimed the originals possessed; however they were inferior.

The Story Begins::

Link is an ordinary soldier serving in the Hyrule Army. Link is deployed to defend the boarders of Hyrule. During the travel Link’s party is ambushed by Moblins and Bokoblins. In the course of the battle Link is captured, in high hopes that the King would pay a healthy reward for him. A band of Sheikah, traversing the area at the time stumble upon the camp of these Moblins and Bokoblins and notice a young warrior tied up.

Link is rescued and brought back to the Sheikah tribe. It turns out Link has little to no memory of his past life. [At this point you have full control over Link.] Soon Link helps defend the Sheikah tribe from enemy Bokoblins and other enemies. Link because of his courage and skill in battle is allowed to become a member of the Sheikah tribe.

On the eve of his ceremony the Shendow breaks the seal. Seeking revenge Shendow arrives at the tribe and attacks it. Link rushes to defend a mother and her child who were about to be devoured. You engage in battle but with three hits you are defeated. Wounded, Shendow leaves to heal his wounds.

the Chieftain of the Sheikah witnessed the fight between Link and Shendow. A small cut scene shows the council discussing the latest attack with Link allowed to take part(he does not talk) It comes to the conclusion that Link must seek out the three artifacts to defeat Shendow.

It is revealed that:

The Mask of Truth: Can read the minds of anyone, compel a person to speak the truth, and allow people to remember things they have forgotten.

Lens of Truth: Can allow the user to see hidden things. It shows where invisible walls are, what Shendow’s Weakness is.

Blade of Shadow: Is the only known sword that can defeat Shendow and do any serious damage. It is also the only weapon that can cause any damage to any shadow oriented enemies.
The council also tells Link that over the years the locations have been lost and that only a few are known. They do know the general Location.

Locations:

Lens of Truth Pieces are located in three temples in the Forest.
Mask of Truth pieces are in the Temples at Sea
Blade of Shadow pieces are in the Mountains.

Taking on the Task Link travels through the Forbidden Forest in search of the three temples.

The first temple you stumble on accidentally. The second temple is in the Northern part of the forest, you learn the location from a few whispering Kokiri.(yay the kokiri are back!) The last Temple you find is in the southern part. You manage to find this one from a Dekuscrub salesman(yea you have to pay)

Now you have all three pieces and return to the Council. They learn they no longer have the power to fix it. You are sent on another quest.

Scattered through out Hyrule are herbs and other such stuff. The Red Mushroom is found deep in the Forbidden Forest, the Mountain Daisy is found in the mountains, and one Rainbow Scale found near the first Sea Temple.

To obtain these you must do a serious of quests and tasks for several NPCs. Once you got that much done you can now return to the Council where they create a powder. They then sprinkle the powder on the pieces of the Lens of Truth and the fuse together.

Now Link travels to the Sea in search of the first Temple, of course sailing is involved.

While talking to the residents of Sea City(just a name I am going to use) to get the Rainbow Scale Link is able to buy a boat. Its something similar to the boat in PH.(Sorry no linebeck)

After defeating the first temple you return to Sea City and talk to some pirates and learn of a mysterious island far west off land.

The third piece is found underwater. Good thing you obtained the Zora Armor from within the second Temple. This temple is all underwater.

You return to the Council and get the Mask Fix.

Now you must travel to the Mountains. At first the Goron protecting the gate to the first Temple entrance wont let your through. He asks you to prove yourself worthy. Go around asking people what the Goron likes, someone will eventually tell you ‘A nice Sirloin Rock, its what most Gorons like’. But he will only tell you where to get it if you do a couple of tasks for him. First he wants you to deliver a poorly written letter to a girl he likes(in the description of it would comment ‘You received a poorly written love letter!’) After this, you must help him get a gift for her.

Any ways you get done with that and the Goron lets you through.

After exploring the mountainous area and found all three temples Link must return to the Council to get it fixed.

You learn that Shendow is currently resting in the Cave of Shadows(I know horrible name) In the cave you will need all three items in various puzzles and stuff and in the fight against Shendow.

SideQuests!

This game would also offer dozens of different Sidequests from escorting the

1) King’s Assistant from Sea City to Kakariko. The Kings Assistant has to go to Kakariko. However the roads are full of dangerous enemies. Your job is to make sure he makes it all the way to Kakariko village safely.

2) To helping a Merchant in Kakariko village to Sea City. Similar to the Kings Assistant sidequest. The only difference is you take a different route that’s crawling with bandits

3) having to clear out a cave the Gorons use to get ‘Sirloin Rock’ from and other things Gorons eat. This is kinda like a mini-dungeon.

4) Helping a Young Sheikah return back to the tribe after wandering to far. You learn from his father that he has been missing all day.

Those would just be some, along with a few trade sequences.

Items:

Obviously there is the Lens of Truth, Blade of Shadow, and Mask of Truth.

Others include: Bow and Arrow, Clawshot/Double Clawshot , bombs, fire/ice/light/bomb arrows. Hawk Eye, Fire Rod, Ice Rod. Would just be a few.

Also the Zora armor would work like it does in TP make it similar to what it was like in MM as a Zora… only know electric shield and boomerang fins.

Gameplay Features:

Horseback combat. Similar to TP only used a lot more.
Wall Running is something Link learns while living with the sheikah. This allows him more freedom.
Also being able to run up walls and to some extent wall jump.
Combining weapons similar to TP.

By the end of the game you will be able to go on ALL the roof tops similar to OoT. Only there would be a lot more of a purpose, kind of like in MM.

There would also be a weather system. Some characters will only appear in Sea City if its sunny out, but if its raining or windy they would be in Kakariko.

Also there would be days of the week. On Tuesdays the Kings Assistant will be at a Tavern in Sea City. but if it was Storming on Tuesday he might be somewhere else.

Link would later be able to control the weather to some extent. This would allow for multiple quests from one person. Like if its Tuesday and raining, the Kings Assistant wants you to check up on his daughter. While if he were in the Tavern while its sunny, he might ask you to escort him.

The escort quests are kind of endless. I mean you can escort them between towns multiple times, from Sea City to Kakariko, or from Kakariko to Sea City.

THE END!

Re: Legend of Zelda: Shadow of Beasts

Very very nice idea! 10/10! Is there going to be any mention of the triforce in this game? I have some ideas for you:

1: To power the shadow sword, you have to go through a secret sheikah mini-dungeon to get to a Gem of Darkness which you put in the sword, and you need the gem so that you can get through a shadow barrier in the Cave of Shadows and beat Shendow.

2: A goron miniquest where you help that goron at the gate some more, to get rupees, bombs, and some special item that I'll let you make.

3: A cave of ordeals type of thing in that secret sheikah temple, which can only be opened after you beat Shendow. At the end of the cave, you get more shadow power into your sword and all your items are updated in some way.

You don't have to use them, they're just ideas I had.

That was the idea.

The idea about doing certain quests over again came from MM. In MM one of the cool parts of the game is that you can repeat quests if you want at anytime. I also loved the part where you escorted Illia to Kakariko village. So I thought, why couldnt it be possible to do this quest several times?

Your first idea sounds interesting. My original plan was to have the Blade of Shadow into four pieces. This would make a fne addition to the game.

The Second Idea I also like. It fits perfectly with my idea to have some NPCs give out several quests.

Your last one I am not quite sure about. I guess I never thought about what happens after you beat Shendow. Although a secret Cave of Ordeals in the mini-Sheikah temple is not a bad idea. Could even make it so that its kind of a right of passage for sheikah warriors.

Thanks to all that thought this was great.

I could try and send the idea to Nintendo, but I doubt they would pay any attention to it.
