What do you hope for in Zelda Wii?

When will Nintendo give us info on the new Zelda?

I remember they used to do it on E3, which was around July, but now that E3's date has changed, when will they do it?

While we are all waiting for this title of a game, what are we hoping for that will satisfy us?

How do you know it won't be released in 2008?

It's been in development for 2 years already.

I keep looking into this stuff about the new Wii Zelda, all sources I look at it says no earlier than early 2009, and the latest, late 2010

Hahah guess you should find a better source of info cause Link burnt you to a crisp. (the one that said its gonna be released in 2009) cause seriously there would of been a title out in the eb games book stating its release in 2008

A better source of info? Anuema or Miyamoto stated that the Wii Zelda had been in development 6-12 months before TP was released. That is about two years back. I don't remember the source, but a lot of people on ZU know about it.

Also, I don't think Nintendo specifically go and tell "EB Games" about the games they are making so EB can put the game in their little book.

Re: What do you hope for in Zelda Wii?

I want to see a Zelda game where Nintendo doesn't get pressured by the fans. Think about it, we've been pressuring and complaining about them moving a Zelda game back so they have more time they work on it. The more we complain the less work is gonna get done since we are bothering them about the game. Like Miyamoto said, a delayed game is a good game...adn some other words after that.

Can anybody give me a link to these sources of information so that I can read them myself? I want some definite information here, not rumors all around.

You know that those "sources" are un-reliable and that any source at the moment has any information whatsoever of the Wii Zelda.

You do realise that your "sources" are probably just fanbases or silly forums with people making ignorant assumptions?

You do realise that around the time Nintendo released Twilight Princess (late 2006), Nintendo made a statement saying that Zelda Wii was currently in development for a year. I remember this statement specifically and it was talked about amongst the rest of the ZU community, but this was a year ago.

I see Nintendo releasing new information on the new game throughout this year. And I see the actually game being released in 2009, more-likely 2010.

No wonder the end of TP felt so rushed, they had bigger and better things to do!

actually, they werent forum sites where people post thoughts and opinions, I would never take reliable info. from a forum site. I don't know exactly at the moment what those sources or adresses were that I checked, but roughly to sum it all up and all the dates I checked, NOT on FORUMS or WIKIPEDIA, from actual RELIABLE SOURCES, the dates ranged from early 2009, to late 2010, there's no exact date, its somewhere along those lines, like for all I know it could be late 2008, but its UNLIKELY, so don't b*tch at me please, im just saying the sources I checked are reliable.

Re: What do you hope for in Zelda Wii?

I'm not going to go off on the reliability of sources but i must say i agree that the earliest we are getting the next game would be 2009. But personally i think to avoid the hype that killed TP [sorta], they should release only sparse details at E3, and then get into heavier details around the time of the Tokyo Game Show [i'm not sure, is that what it's actually called?].

Re: What do you hope for in Zelda Wii?

Well I'll bet they didn't think TP or PH would take as long as they did to be released, so any date that anyone gives - official or not - is pretty much null and void until it's actually on the shelves!

Anyway, back on topic: I want more choices in dialogue and weapons, and things like that. I want a levelling up system where you get experience and stuff. I'd also like to see some voice acting, although it would really have to be fully used or not at all. I want multiplayer as well - online would be good -, for example minigames which can be played with more than one person, a 'tournament' mode of some sort, or something like that. I wanna see a little bit of Zelda FPS as well - kinda like Oblivion where you could switch between the two and stuff like that.

Furthermore, I want the next Wii Zelda to use the entire console to it's full potential. For example, I want to see a massive, detailed overworld without the little pathways separating the different sections. There should be next to no loading times, a la Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. The player should be immersed in the game, be it through first-person views, accurate sword swings/arrow shots etc., or through the choices they make and the pathways they set their character on throughout the game, right down to the weapons which they recieve, the temples they enter, places they go and even the characters they meet and how they interact with them.

What I also want is a difficulty setting. TP was pretty easy, really, and PH
was often brutally hard - especially since I'm not very good at top-down games! I want to be able to choose my own difficulty, and be able to chage it if needed. Also, I'd like to have something which allows you to redo things from both the game in question and older games - for example, a boss replayer or story scene reviewer. There also really needs to be some sort of online functionality. For example, you could play through the game with other players - whose characters could be on a whole different quest/level/pathway than you, and maybe unlock different items or things like that which you wouldn't getr any other way.

Finally, I'd like to see DS interactivity. For example, two different games could be released - one on DS and one on Wii - and they could link up together and do different things. What would really be cool is if the DS version happened in the AT and the Wii version took place in the CT, and they linked together and thus re-linked the timelines or something.

There. That's what I want!

Re: What do you hope for in Zelda Wii?

The first thing I hope for is change. While there is nothing wrong with the old systems there just isn't much more you can do with the traditional dungeons + boomerang/hookshot/bombs/etc format.

Secondly, the game needs difficulty, desperately. I really miss how tactical the old school games were, your bombs, auxilery items and magic really mattered if you wanted to survive and made it worthwhile to improvise solutions to situations. It would be fantastic if the things you earned by doing sidequests really mattered for once...

...and on that note they had no reason to skimp on TP's sidequests given how strong and integral they were in MM and WW. I would love to play a game with great sidequests that lacked the tedious gameplay systems that MM and WW had (3-days and sailing).

lol Your a loser.

Going on google and looking for info will lead you to sites that are guessing the release date. Do yourself a favor and look for reliable info on IGN or 1up. And don't even try to b*tch with me because your sources are not official and get over it.

I think you should stop b*tching.

Get it through your head:

There are NO reliable sources that can tell you when this game will come out. They can only make an assumption on past release dates.
