A transforming Link.

What did you guys think of the deal that Link was transformed into a Wolf in Twilight Princess?
Would you all like to see that in the future Zelda games?

Personally I didn't like it very much, when moving in wolf form, maybe just becuse the fact you where forced collect all those "Tears of Light" when moving in wolf form and I think many here agree that was a boring thing to do.

But still, would you like to see a transforming Link in a future zelda game or do you want to a ordinary Link with his green hat on?

Re: A transforming Link.

I wouldn't mind seeing another "transforming Link" in future games. But either way I really don't care both would work fine.

I think the next big Zelda title for wii should involve Link having a "dark side" AKA Shadow link. That would be awesome.

Re: A transforming Link.

It depends on what he transforms into. I wouldn't like to see Link transform into a donkey... If he transforms into a wolf that's fine with me.

Re: A transforming Link.

I'd like to see him transforming into all sort of animals.

He should turn into a Zora for swimming.
A Deku Scrub for bursting out of flowers.
A Goron for rolling around.
A dragon for flying around.
A wolf for seeing invisible things.
A cat for being cute.
A dog for licking people and jumping on them.

Re: A transforming Link.

I think that the whole "transforming into a wolf" thing was partly a way to bring a part of MM forward. While it was different in MM (i.e. you needed a mask) the concept is essentially the same. Link transforms into another body to better the way he works through the environment. That being said, its been done. If another game is made where Link transforms again, will I cry about it? No. But its been done, time for something new.

What would be the point?

Unless he has a personality, is developed as a character, and not a speechless stoner, maybe then it would be good.

I wouldn't like it. Wolf link took forever to take out enemies and he could only use "finish" on poes.

I LOVED IT!!! It is so awesome... The first transformation was awesome though, I mean, I'm a werewolf fan, so even though the transformation wasn't up to my standard (and trust me, its not much).

I really think it was a nice game twist. Made the story interesting, although I felt like the wolf parts were pretty boring

I don't think it will happen in the next game.

Re: A transforming Link.

I wasn't big into the wolf transformation. However, the Fierce Deity's transformation in MM was a stunning surprise. I would love for that to come again. Having an ancient spirit try to take over Link, only for Link to overcome and empower himself with it showed how much power he had. Transforming him into an animal wasn't too great, and let's hope he does NOT turn into a dragon. Dragons are so cliche now-a-days, and to think about flight control on Zelda. If it were anything, let Link transform into ancient warriors who fought a war long ago (there's another story).

Re: A transforming Link.

Transformation has been reused throughout many Zelda titles, it isnt really a new concept. Wolf form was good, it created a different mode of gameplay, although little more than the transformations from Majora's Mask, which I claim were thought out with more care.

I wouldnt mind Link transforming into different forms in the future, perhaps through the use of a ring system (like the oracle games). In the Oracle Zeldas, Link was able to turn into an Octerok, Like Like and moblin. These transformations were of absolutely no use, but they were fun to see. Perhaps some transformation methods that are major in themselves but have minor implications on the gameplay would help solve the problem of gameplay feeling mundane, because situations could change if Link 'puts on the magic ring' and transforms, changing how you approach the game temporarily, spicing things up.

Talking it was a awsome idea!!!!!

the whole wolf thing was awsome and you need to use it for puzzles but if there were any more animals that link could turn into it would get to confusing and kill the whole game:confused:

I once had an idea for a Zelda game that featured something similar to this. Basically, Link and Dark Link were the dynamic duo, and you would switch back and forth between them depending on which side of the mirror you were on. (Chances are you will not have any idea what that means. If you want me to delve further, just tell me. =3)

Re: A transforming Link.

I've ALWAYS felt that the Wind waker series should have a transforation for Link. He has a Lobster on his shirt at the begining and a Lobster on his shield. I think in the next game of the Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass they should somehow tie in Link transforming into a Giant Lobster. I don't know how you'd control it and I don't even care if it was just for the last boss, i think it'd be sweet.

I completely disagree with this. I enjoyed those parts and everything about the Twilight Realm and wolf Link.

Personally, I want to see another "dark" scheme in the next zelda, except this time it has to do with undead and Link, like, switching between life and death forms or something.

Re: A transforming Link.

Transforming into a wolf in TP really didn't change the gameplay at all. You were controlled the same, and you played the same way as a human Link that can't use items. The trasformations done in Majora's Mask were far more interesting, and it mixed up the gameplay a lot more.

I would like to see trasformations in future Zelda games, but only if they are creative and mix up the gameplay. Transforming into a wolf or becoming mini are extremely lame transformations. If Link is going to transform, give him an ability that he can't do as human Link; for example: jumping, flying, or swimming Zora style.

Re: A transforming Link.

I think transformations are almost at their limit.

I, in my game idea thread, have the idea of an alternate reality.

Something to make gameplay new, but not change the world too much, like transformations but different, is needed.

I like the transforming thing in TP, i don't really care if they put it in another game as long as the game rocks as hard.

Anything like MM would be good with me, I'd love another wolf link if you actually made the power to do the amazing wolf jumps without them being preset, that really annoyed me.
