I totaly agree with this statement. My reason to add to this though is the fact that by using Text instead of Voice acting it adds to the players input. You have to imagine what the characters voice would sound like and the grunts etc. and little hints. Hearing what Link would sound like i feel would really ruin his chararcter along with others if we ever got to know what they sound like.
Exactly. We do not need to hear his voice. Mario doesn't really speak. He has a voice but he says small phrases for the most part and that's it. Which is good. Link can be heard in his grunts, but we don't need to hear anything more than that. We each have our own idea of what Link is like and a voice would separate that into what Nintendo thinks Link should sound like... if it differs from our own long standing idea of what he might would sound like.
An example is Sonic the Hedgehog. I liked him sooo much better before they ever tried to give him a voice. The Sonic games voice acting is horrible. I just don't think Zelda even NEEDS VAs. Seriously. The game is already great. That's getting nitpicky and just trying to make the game seem more "modern." Which it doesn't need.
these game CD's have a finite amount of space, why o why would you want to waste that precious space on voice acting?
Haha good point there. Look at games like Heavenly Sword for PS3 that have so much voice acting in that the game play only lasts an average of 7 hours. I would like to see the space used on the Wii Disc for the gameplay/graphics etc.
