Exactly. We do not need to hear his voice. Mario doesn't really speak. He has a voice but he says small phrases for the most part and that's it. Which is good. Link can be heard in his grunts, but we don't need to hear anything more than that. We each have our own idea of what Link is like and a voice would separate that into what Nintendo thinks Link should sound like... if it differs from our own long standing idea of what he might would sound like.
An example is Sonic the Hedgehog. I liked him sooo much better before they ever tried to give him a voice. The Sonic games voice acting is horrible. I just don't think Zelda even NEEDS VAs. Seriously. The game is already great. That's getting nitpicky and just trying to make the game seem more "modern." Which it doesn't need.
