An odd Idea I came up with...

I don't want any one to get mad at me,but all of a sudden,this idea popped into my head unexpectidly....Here goes...*gulps*

I've thought that there could be a game for some reason,that could enable gender-friendly things.(This goes for all the people who hate playing as the opposite gender).at the beginning of the game,like when your getting your settings set.I thought that there would be a selection,if you picked female,It would be like Link was a female all his life.If you picked male,well everyone allready knows.

Please don't get mad at me.I all ready know it's gonna effect the fan rate and way of the Zelda games...

but then again, when was Link female? Never, and sorry to shut it down, but yes it is a horrible idea, from my opinion.

I figured that,but what I mean't by Link was a female,I mean't it like if you chose that,then it would be like he always was a girl...

This idea sucks....

When are people gonna get this LINK CANNOT BE REPLACED WITH A FEMALE CHARACTER!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I think it would be about time. They already did it with Pokemon, they sort of did it with Mario, and those two franchises weren't affected. So maybe the whole female character thing would go by well. just one thing, not Link. Some kind of Hylian heroinne, but not Link. Maybe his long lost sister or something.

That would be really cool. I love Link and all, but being a girl would be cool too. But wouldn;t that mess up the timeline and the game a bit if you made Link a girl? Maybe it wouldn't have to be Link as a girl, but a playable character that works with Link. Maybe you could even do something where it could switch between the two.

Edit: Changed my mind: It would never work out (the story) if Link was a girl. It would ruin the whole thing. I like my idea better.

I did kinda overreact, you at least presented it better than some did (some people suggested things like killing link or other wird jusnk) but I still think it wouldn't work.

If that option had been there all the way through the series, starting with LoZ, it'd be great. However, it's too late to add that feature now. It just wouldn't be right. Besides, I don't really think it bothers girls to play as a male character. Does it?

Not necessarily. It took them several years and three different gens before they added a female option to Pokemon. I'm just saying that it could happen and might be widely accepted.

I bring it up everytime someone says "female link" for that very reason

If there is a Zelda game in which you play as a female character, that character will not be Link, its as simple as that.

Theres already alot of female heros in games and movies anyway

Well if there was a female character It shouldbe like an alternate storyline but it inter links with the main story line, would that be good?

You know, as the main idea behind Link is that he is the image/link of the player in the game...and he's a random person starting from nowhere, I can't see any reason why a female Link would not work. I personally don't mind playing as a guy ( to answer Majoraman ) but the idea of the Heroine of Hyrule strikes me as original. It would be different, yet could still keep the spirit of the game.

I'd honestly rather play as Zelda though..she's established and could carry a game if it was done correctly.
