I'm sorry, I didn't see your mod banner. Nope, don't see it. In other words: Don't tell me what and what not to do, I know very well what I can and cannot post. I've been here a lot longer than you and have plenty of experience. So don't godmod me. Ignorant little pompous... *incomprehensible muttering*

(truth is, even if you were a mod, I probably wouldn't listen to you)

Anyways:

How a future based Zelda would work:like a lead balloon, like a snowball fight in hell, like a cement swim suit, etc

You get my point? Futuristic Zelda=Hole in the head

Re: The Futuristic Zelda thread

Now you're just flaming. What is with half of the Zelda fans on these forums? Either I get replies that this is an awesome idea, or that I should burn in hell for thinking such a horrid thought.

You fall under the latter, obviously...

EDIT: Let's just stop this whole argument. I don't feel like having a flaming war in this topic. If you don't like it, ignore this entire idea. Nobody is telling you to like the proposition of a futuristic Zelda title...

Still don't see a mod banner and actually I never flamed in that whole post. I just told you not to order me around and some on topic stuffs.

Difference between hardcore fans (aka purists) and gamers (aka little boys who love their blood and people who think Halo is the pinnacle of gaming)

Don't burn in hell, that's bad for you. Just go realize you're wrong and become emo for a bit, and emerge from the experience a better poster who doesn't godmod.

Proper term is Flame War, not Flaming War
Ignore the idea? Sounds good to me. Let's all forget about having a futuristic uber fail Zelda!
I still have the right to post don't I?

Basically what you're saying is:
"I'm afraid of you because you're not very nice and I don't like it when people don't agree with me."
Am I right?

No, gliderpilotgirl just laid down rules for the topic, and you are fully aware of that. You are just being disrespectful and annoying because someone doesn't agree with you.

EDIT: If you want to argue with me that badly, just PM me because we are going off topic here.

Maybe there's a good reason for that. Do you honestly believe something's wrong with everybody else, and you're the right one?

Anyways, it'd be like me saying:
"Oh, lets have Metroid take place on an island, where instead of using her normal gear, she has to build her own wooden sword from the trees. Then, she discovers that some pirates (sea pirates)live on the island, and she has to use her sword to kill them all.

But dont worry, it'd still be a Metroid game because Samus is involved, and the basic gameplay is the same."

OOOO, how about this:

In a new Zelda game, Link can be the son of the president. But, Ganondorf is the leader of a gang, and wants to assassinate the president. So Link, equipped with some guns and motorcycles, has to track down the gang, hidden throughout different cities.

Gliderpilotgirl just set the topic in a new direction. I never said you should die or anything. I just told you to learn from this little excursion that you shouldn't godmod because people like me (aka I) get really PO'd when you tell us (me) what to do.

I am still discussing why a Futuristic Zelda would be bad. It'd basically be Mario without Jumping. It takes away from the series.

Taking the medieval fantasy out of Zelda is a bad idea.

Disrespectful: ofcourse, you have garnered no respect from me.
Annoying: Matter of perception
And once again: No mod banner so stop ordering me around because I know the rules.

I don't care if you argue back or not, but really, you're the one who offended me in the first place. Trying to tell me what to do rather than provide a rebuttal for my arguments against your (terrible) ideas.

The farthest in the future Zelda can go is mid industrial age. (advent of gunpowder, factories just starting up... kinda like the Meiji Restoration in Japan)

Besides, I already explained how a future Zelda would work: Terribly. We don't even have real royal families anymore. That means Zelda is absolved, and we have no story. That means that the new story would have to be an entirely generic modern day story, thus making it less of a zelda game. Must I go on?

Discussing something is more than just agreeing with it. You must also disagree with it, otherwise discussion quickly dies and goes no where.

Re: The Futuristic Zelda thread

Then (more clearly) why would a future Zelda title be a "bad idea"?

Just saying that it belongs as a Middle Ages game doesn't count...

Who says it belongs in the "middle ages".
I said a futuristic Zelda could work. BUT, the way you're suggesting is impractical. It just wouldn't happen.

Re: The Futuristic Zelda thread

Again...Why?

You have to say more than that to get your opinion heard. Also, if you convince me, I might change how I'm doing this...

I just gave a few good examples:

-Future=Anullment of royal families. They go from rulers to figureheads. Ergo Zelda is useless
-Guns=Terrible idea for Zelda (ask any fan)
-Try making temples in a modern day setting. Now, find inventive items to be used in each level for puzzle solving and perhaps combat, and conclude with an awesome (looking atleast) boss fight... didn't work so well did it?
-It's Zelda, not Final Fantasy, not Star Wars. If Zelda were to go into the future, it would have to copy someone else. That is bad.
-Majority of fans would hate it. The rest of the the fanbase are newbies who have only played 2 or 3 Zeldas. (I myself have played them all)
-Plot would have to go totally out of whack. Mixing the legend of the triforce with modern day is a bad idea.
-Put a giant pig demon in a future setting. Nope, not seeing Ganon in a suit or thug outfit.
-What kind of idiot would run around in modern day with a sword and a green skirt (it would no longer be a tunic because it'd be modern day, and we don't wear tunics anymore) Oh I know! You're one of those "Link is gay" people aren't you? (note the obvious sarcasm)

Need I go on?

Why you ask?

I'll tell you in a sec. First things first: he has full right not to explain his opinions. He won't convince you because you seem to be firmset in the "Zelda+guns" mindset (as I call it)

If by "change how I'm doing this" you mean not tell people with more experience how and what to post, please do.

Anyways: Why you asked: the answer because your idea was full of fail. Simple as that. (for the extended version see my red opinions on the previous page)

Completely agree.
And, even if Link were to accidentally appear in the future, how would he learn to use guns and motorcycles so fast?
