So, hear you are being a guard for the castle gates. You think of what a pitiful, useless job it is until you hear something. "Now, go get the bombs to blow up the gate for the distraction, then Divoso will tell you what to do for the throne room assault." You hear this and panick in your mind, because you know that what you must do must be done quickly. You quietly inform your fellow guardsmen of the recent events that have accured. All of you have to sneak quietly to the throne room, hoping not to be struck by a stray arrow among the bushes. Then you do what ever the rest of the game has you do.

So, any opinions on being a regular guy as a hero of a Zelda game?

Sure, but Link's name has to be Link and he has to have the clothes. It isn't Zelda without Link at least.

what's the point of using a normal soldier? if it goes ahead of just defending the city it wouldn't be a normal guy anymore, it would get the title of a legendary hero if he did everything Link does, and if he didn't, well, just create a new game, and by the way, Link is not just some random guy who was lucky, it was his destiny to be the hero chosen by the goddesess, the one you are saying is a lucky random guy.

Heck no I rather be like Link then to be a pathertic soldier

I can see what you are talking about, but then it wouldn't be zelda. Link acctually comes from a long line of Links. Each time a boy is born with the mark on there hand, they are named Link. Each game holds a new Link. (Each game also holds a new Zelda, which would make it just wrong for Zelda and Link to marry and have kids. Sorry Fans!)
Zelda is the continuing story of Link and Zelda's families.

No; The Links are not all related. WW Link was definently not related, as said by The King of Red Lions.

The Zeldas on the other hand ARE related; part of AoL's instruction booklet says that it was decreed that all Hylian Princesses would be called Zelda.

In which part of the game? I havn't finished WW yet. *blushes*

I think I understand your idea, but you would have to compete with Link to be the ultimate hero, whenever evil reaches Hyrule, a new hero is born to get rid of it, and he always recieves the Triforce of courage, always get a green tunic with a weird hat and is always called Link, if another person want's to be the hero, he has to compete with Link, think of Ralph in OoA, but the otherway around it.

Link in TWW was just a normal boy who made himself The Hero of Wind just to save his sister and then Zelda later on ..
