Will Link Retire!!!???

I know the chance of this happening is very slim and the series has a better chance of stopping but will Link grow to old for people to play and enjoy the game? I know that is will not happen but think about Solid Snake. In the beggining he was young and more of a hero. But in the last game he was old and yet still a hero. It has been done before in countless zelda games that link was a different age in each game or in each part of the game. Will Link ever age to be less enjoyable to play as? The series has been around for a long time and has I dont think it will retire but will Link? Will players play as a 30 year old link? Doughtful I know and I know that nintendo will likly not allow it but will it ever happen? What do you think?

FS FSA (maybe TMC): same Link

TP is just waiting for a sequel. (most likely)

Other than that, yeah. All the Link's have a bit of hylian knight in their blood, but that's all.

It amuses me and confuses me that there are still people who think Link is always the same person in every Zelda game.

Ganon comes back every year of Link's life! Every now and again there's a switch, but yeah. That makes so much sense.

In FS it said that Vatti was sealed before, in FSA it said that Vatti was sealed in the sword twice.

It is an interesting prospect though. A game where link could maybe become older... I mean like grow old as the game went on, not pull out a sword from a pedestal and poof your 7 years in the future.

It is confusing lol .... I know that it is not likly to happen but theres still a 1% chance out of who knows what.

Try using more periods, that should be about 3 or 4 sentences.

In FS Vatti had been sealed once.
In FSA he had been sealed twice.
In TMC it is not directly stated.

So...

FS and FSA could potentially be the same, but it seems TMC is seperate. After all, FSA is a direct sequel to FS. (or is it the other way around?)

This might be off the current discussion, but watching an old man rolling through the grass slicing people up would be a little...disturbing?

I didn't expect this thred to go living agian...anyways the word ''retire'' means he would quit and or just not be made in anymore games. Its not really Link's choice to retire or not it's Nintendo's.

Wrong. Phantom Hourglass came out after TP, and a new one for the wii has been confirmed.

No there is still one more. It is said that the game is still under alot of development but there is one currently being made. It probably wont be out though till like mid 2009 - late 2009. I couldnt imagine it being any longer than that.

Damn I'm going to be in my last year of high school or just finishing high school when the game comes out, lol.

I hate to say this, but I'm wondering when the series will end. Zelda has been going on for a long time, and I really want to know how they will...like put a cap on the series. I hope that day comes after I grow out of Zelda or something. But anyways...if TP was the last game then it wouldn't be a good ending, and Nintendo would lose a lot of reputation points.

you are right... it would kill the series...

But lucky for us Zelda fans, only few of the Zelda games are linked. When the creators make a new Zelda, they kind of - sort of make a whole new game. And I am perfectly happy with their decision, because it ensures that Link would be sort of a new person. More like the same hero in a different story.

I would give Zelda another 7 years or so before it ends, 10 for Mario.
