Question How long?

How long you think it'll be till the next console zelda? I know probably pretty far off but after playing through TP again i cant wait. TP has such a deeper story with so much emotion it really gets you into it. I just cant beleive what new stuff the next game will have. So when do you think the next game will be announced?

Re: How long?

Yeah, it'll probably be a while. I reckon maybe 2009 at the very earliest, though since TP was such a success, they might try to release one earlier. Here's hoping!

Re: How long?

The important thing is that I don't want them to rush just to get the next Zelda game out. I want them to take whatever time is necessary to make improvements. As good as TP was, it should've/could've been much better.

Certainly, I don't want them to rush the development on this game at all. I'd rather wait years for a Zelda that can actually be argued to be the best game in the series, instead of just trying to live up to it. Realistically, I think they will aim to have the game out for 2009, although I'd much rather wait longer, if quality is to be compromised to meet a certain date. I feel this is what happened with TP, with the latter part of the game feeling rushed. I'd have much rather waited for a far superior game, even if it meant scrapping its' Gamecube release completely, as it was practically a dying console.

Re: How long?

I say between 08-10 just because it'll take a little bit for them to get on development with the new console, plus, it'd take a year to make a bunch of copies.

Re: How long?

Definetly not until 2010... later possibly. I don't want them to rush things at all.
Like Miyamoto once said "A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever"

Re: How long?

They should definately take as long as they need. I wouldnt want them to rush the game at all. And personally i dont think they will. they wont release it until its perfect (fingers crossed!) TP was a fantastic game i thought and worth the wait, the story was deep and excellant, loved the ganondorf twist. It was a beautiful game aswell. Wasnt as good as Ocarina though! I would love for them to make a game better than Ocarina but it would be a major challenge, theres no fault in Ocarina in my eyes so they can take 10 years if its better than the best game ever made!

Dang, it was the Wii version that should have never gotten started. That's why the sub par game took so long.

Hopefully the next game will be epic, now that they won't decide to waste time porting it to some other system. I doubt we'll see two more Zeldas on the Wii, since each console got one or two Zeldas.

It will likely be around 2010. Somewhere in the middle or towards the end of the Wii's approximate five year run. That's about as long as consoles last before a new one comes out.

Re: How long?

I don't reckon it will be as long as 2009.
I think now that Nintendo have started playing a more front seat roll in the creation of Zelda again, there wont be too long a wait for another DS title. I think the handheld series is taking a whole new lease of life.
Also it's the only way of really making non 3D or part 2D/3D titles for us old school retro heads.

Re: How long?

i dont really care about more DS titles. I dont have a DS, the only reason id buy one is for zelda. So im not going to see any of the DS games. Which kinda sucks, but i dont want a DS. But seeing how good TP looked as gamecube graphics, it'll look a lot better on Wii, even though its not as high graphics as 360 but it should still look good. I dont want them to rush it at all. I want the best game they can make, but i also cant wait long. I couldnt stand waiting for TP so long. It drove me crazy, i hope the next one doesnt take years after its announced. The cutscenes look so much better cause they can put so much more emotion on the faces of the characters. It makes the game a lot more exciting.

Re: How long?

It's been mentioned before, but I think sometime early 2010 is my guess. We might be lucky if it was the end of 09. They've been working on it for a long time.

Re: How long?

i think new Zelda will be announced in 2009 or in 2011, but that's only me...
but i would love a game as challenging as PH for the wii, but then a little bit more realistic.

I haven't been here in awhile, congrats on becoming a mod Daphnes.

My guess is that we'll be shown a teaser at one of next year's shows followed by two years of waiting for the game to come out. So that would put it at around November 2010. 2009 is a possibility but I really think that they'll use Zelda to stretch out the Wii's popularity and give it a longer life span. Until then we'll always have Link's Crossbow Training.

Re: How long?

Any date before christmas 2010 would surprise me. I would say after Wii Fit but before Red Steel 2. Furthermore if they would release it say in 2008/2009 there really won't be a gaming drought and you all know that's impossible at Nintendo. (Seriously what's up with the 3 good games a year limit.)
