Gannondorf MUST die... for real this time...

OK, i mentioned this in an earlier thread, and i really want to hear your opinions about this idea.

I think Gannon/dorf needs to be killed off. seriously- gone for good.

And i hope they do it for the Wii Zelda! Could you immagine, after 2 decades of battling Gannon, finally getting to shove the master sword through his heart (or head, or whatever orafice you wish) for the last time? And with the graphics capabilities of the Wii?

Now, if they do make a game where Gannon is killed, it needs to have an amazing plot so that it feels really good and maybe even.... what's the word... euphoric... to kill off Gannon. I think millions of Zelda fans world-wide would shell out big bucks to play a zelda game that does that! Think about it- the Hype surrounding a Zelda where you get to REALLY kill Gannon would even get people who gave up on Zelda with WW to pick it back up again!

and it needs voice acting. GOOD voice acting, but not for link. the game needs to have more options when it comes to dialogue. scenario's where you can mess up or get different reactions and game experiences from choosing different things to do or say.

but mainly- Gannon must die.
Discuss.

GANNON-BANNED. It's Ganon, not Gannon. Anyway, I don't think that they should kill of Ganon all together. It would be much easier to just stop using him.

but if they are gonna just stop using him, why not go out with a bang? it would be dumb just to leave it be. i want a zelda game where you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that he's gone for good. with a good story line, it would be really emotional and exciting... (i guess I'm the only one who feels this way. I'm suprised).

Re: Gannondorf MUST die... for real this time...

Ganon is the bearer of the Triforce of Power. I like Ganon(dorf), and don't think any villian in the Zelda series is more deserving of the ToP. He's been revised. His character has been developed. They can't and won't just throw him out.

Half of the games in the series don't even have the guy in them, and people still think he's in too many games. It saddens me.

No more talk of axing Ganny! Your Mod has spoken!! *poofs away*

I don't think he should ever actually die, or that they should stop using him. He's one of the first things you think of when you think of Zelda and I couldn't imagine it without him!

Re: Gannondorf MUST die... for real this time...

Ganondorf has been killed. He got his neck snapped in TP. He got a sword shoved in his head and became a statue in TWW. There we go, that's both timelines, he's dead.

Re: Gannondorf MUST die... for real this time...

You're forgetting something; The Wind Waker (+ Phantom Hourglass) was meant to be the last Zelda in the official timeline. Ganondorf was supposedly "killed off for good" there. It wouldn't make sense to have him die for good again, unless it happened chronologically after The Wind Waker, and for that to happen, Ganondorf would need to come back first, which would be... weird. Also, Ganondorf, technically, is only in Ocarina of Time, The Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and, from what I've heard, Four Swords Adventures, though I'm not sure about that. Ganon has appeared in practically every Zelda game, however, with only Zelda II, Link's Awakening, Majora's Mask, and Phantom Hourglass being exceptions.

I do agree that the Gerudo King is getting slightly old, storyline-wise, though. I really want to see Vaati and/or Agahnim in a 3D game. Having Ganon (and occasionally Ganondorf) appear in a twist-ending so often makes it much less of a twist-ending. Maybe it would be more twist-ending-y to have Vaati as the main villain, then have Agahnim, rather than Ganon(dorf) summoned at the end, or visa-versa. That really would be a welcome shock.

However, I would still like to Ganondorf appear in some more Zelda games. Ganondorf, not Ganon. Although I suppose Ganon will always appear where Ganondorf does. Too bad it doesn't work the other way, too. Simply put, I think Ganon is getting old, yes, but for me, Ganondorf hasn't appeared nearly enough yet.

Re: Gannondorf MUST die... for real this time...

i think a game with a really intersting plot could be made, involving gannon losing the triforce of power and all that. I'd at least like to see him seriously put to rest and not brought back till the next nintendo system or something. i want to see something besides the typical, Ganon has the triforce of power, he finds some way to come back, blah blah.

it's old.

Only as old as Link coming from some rural town or something similar. With no emmidiate parents. Ganondorf has been more revised than Link has.

From what I hear, it's a Japanese cliche for the hero to not have both (or any) parents. As for Disney killing parents off, it's probably meant to be emotional. "You killed my father/mother!".

Ganondorf is killed in both timelines so there is absolutely no reason for him to ever return unless Nintendo does a prequel.

He wasn't in MC either

I'd love to see Agahnim as a main villain though, (which is a big thing for me to say as I'm a traditionalist and very rarely like change so I'm a Ganon/Ganondorf fan but you put the idea in my head), seeing as he was essentially a puppet like Zant for Ganon/Ganondorf

Well then, who gets the ToP? Onox? Majora? Ganondorf's son Gorgoth?

What are you talking about? There are two time lines, and I think that Ganondorf and Ganon are diffrent people. Ganondorf died once in each time line, Ganon died once in each time line. It's even.

Verox sounds better to me. Onover sounds too much like Oliver, whish is not suitable for a warlord or other villian.
