A game where you actually play as Zelda

If Nintendo would create a game like that, it's okay. If Nintendo makes it, it will be fine. I remain neutral about whether it should or should not happen.

After all, they also gave a considerably less important character a role in a game...

First off, your playing as Zelda. Thats a real big clue right there. When have you ever played as Zelda in a Zelda game? It also wasn't even designed by nintendo, some stooges at philips (who made a system that sold so badly it makes the sega satern look like a major profit) did. They also aparently didn't get the memo that a wierd cross between American and Japanese style animations don't make good cutscenes, plus voice acting that sounds like a stoned, drunk, and retarded Pee Wee Herman sounds bad.

No, I mean the gameplay is classic, top-down Zelda. Not like the AoL style of the other inferior two.

I remember thinking that it was weird that you could play as Sheik in SSBM. I mean, you never saw Sheik or Zelda fight in OoT, so the crazy ninja fighting moves seemed to come out of nowhere. But I'd love to see a game from Zelda/Sheik's perspective in OoT, since maybe we'll get an explanation.

and remember the rumors that Sheik would be a playable character in the next Super Smash Bros? maybe Nintendo is planning on bringing her back for another game.

This proves my point. The game is called "The Legend of Zelda" not "The Legend of Link." It would make sense to play as Zelda who is the main focus of the games. (Except MM)

I'm talking about the CD I's not standard Zelda.

I love Sheik. That would be awesome to play as Zelda and be able to turn into Sheik but I really wish Sheik was a separate, real character and not Zelda in disguise. Sheik is my absolute fav. character!!!!

I agree with but I have a question. Are you a person of the Female variety? Because If you are you liking Sheik would make sense and the way you talk about "him" makes me think so. Don't respond to the question if you find it offensive I just like knowing if my guesses are accurate.

I think it would be fun to be sheik because it would add like a whole new game play with acrobatics to the game. Also it would be fun to like random;y disappear infront of Link.

I like the idea of Zelda saving Link, instead of the opposite. That could make a funny game! But the idea of a game in which you play as both Zelda and Link, also sounds pretty cool!

I think there was a discussion like this a while back when I first joined, but I think a separate game wouldn't do as well, but just think about it. Zelda gets to really use her power and sword skills. I think this idea would be pretty awesome.

I also thought that if there was a new Zelda game where you can be two player for a few side quests, where Link and Zelda work together to defeat a boss or something. That would be cool.

An interesting concept, certainly. I think it could be made to work in a number of ways. I'd certainly play it if it happened to appear.

Agreed. I'm not afraid to try this new idea. I actually do hope it happens. At least my idea of 2 player for the next Zelda. The Zelda only game thing would have to be a small side game, kind of like Link's crossbow training is.

I think playing as Zelda would for sure be a different experience, but not for all the new Zelda games, because Link is awesome, and I still say they should give Zelda a try, just she better be able to turn into Sheik. ^_^

Something that would've been nice was add a second Quest on OoT where you play through as Zelda in the child form and then play as Sheik in the Adult form. You'd have to fight your way through Hyrule and meet up with Link to teach the Ocarina songs, while there was still a story and conflict for Sheik to handle on her own while meeting Link at each dungeon. Too late for that, i know... but could be a neat added feature for a future Zelda title.

What the heck?!It's not right to think that Zelda should be around beating Link as a hero.Sure,even though I thoght of a game like that,but not Zelda 24 7!But trust me,if it happens,everyone who plays it will maybe think it sucked.

Being able to control zelda to solve a puzzle or as a side quest would be fine.
In Paper Mario you could control peach for some times to find out some info.

So a zelda game could still be fun if your not constantly playing as Link. It could add on to the story to find out what Zelda is up to while Link is exploring.
Imagine your Zelda and you know Ganon is coming for you, so you control her and try to sneak yourself to a safer area. Then once you complete it, the game switches back to Link.
