Re: magic meter or no majic meter

How do you manage to spell magic both correctly and incorrectly within the frame of a few seconds and three words?

Anyway, it depends on if there is any magic involved. If so, there should be a magic meter. If not, then no.

Re: magic meter or no majic meter

That was one thing I did not care for in OoT. I was always having to look for magic bottles, and it made me angry when I was trying to defeat Ganondorf at the very end with the Light Arrows and I couldn't get to any bottles. It was good of the creators to remove the magic meter from the game; one less thing for a gamer to worry about.

Re: magic meter or no majic meter

I would like it, I enjoyed trying to find a way to extend the meter in past games and It's another thing to collect during the game but then again I like collecting things so. I find it cool if you run out of something and you have to go buy or find some more. Plus, I think it would be nice to have some more magic powers next time imo.

Re: magic meter or no majic meter

I think there should be.

Because a magic meter means magic items. Din's Fire, Ice Rod, Light Arrows, a Spin Attack worthy of the name... bring it on, I say, and let us have some real items.

Agreed, use of magic has always played a part through the series, and although I was not overly worried about the lack of one in TP, I do hope that is not the end of magic use in the future, as it does lend itself nicely for the introduction of new and different items.

Re: magic meter or no majic meter

It's really not a big deal. I mean I like the magic meter and magic in general, but I found that I didn't really mind its absence in TP. In or out, it doesn't really matter.

Re: magic meter or no majic meter

I agree with Glooma and Pandaemonium. The magic meter looks cool, and it's something to collect. Plus, it justifies more magic items, spell, abilities, etc.

Re: magic meter or no majic meter

I perfer the magic meter be in the next Zelda because of it's potential regarding items, puzzles, tactics for defeating bosses, etc.. However, I don't really mind (much, anyway) wether they add it or not.

Re: magic meter or no majic meter

The only problem I ever had with the Magic Meter was in LTTP. The lantern was very useful, and often necessary, but always used up magic. Other than that, I don't usually have a problem with running out.

I think yes, it makes it more real and difficult.

Re: magic meter or no majic meter

It would be nice to have a more magic centered game in the future. Maybe even a return of the magic rods from the orginal game, and some elements from Zelda II.

So yes, there should be a magic meter.

TP is a sequel to OoT (basically), and it doesn´t have a magic metter. That doesn´t mean that PH isn´t going to have one either.

But anyway, I would like it better to have a magic metter, it opens more possibilites besides the items. In TP your only choice are the items, and the hidden skills. Ok, these hidden skills compensate for the lack of a magic bar. But why not have both?

Most Zelda games these days are easy enough without a magic meter, which is why I want it in. You can't just go around dissing the magic meter because "it was one more thing to worry about." This is a good thing, believe it or not. It means that you simply can't rush guns-a-blazing, and that you need to sit back and come up with a more strategic solution.
