What if Retro Studios made a Zelda game?

What do you guys think? They did you a pretty damn good job on Metroid Prime.

And I'm not suggesting that they should make an FPA (First Person Adventure) like Metroid Prime.

So... what are your thoughts? I think it could work out pretty well. They obviously know how to make a great game.

(Sorry for the awful opening post. But eh, I'm no good at these.)

Maybe, maybe not. I don't think Nintendo's ready to let another studio develop a Zelda game quite yet, though. However, if they did, I'm sure they'd pick Retro to do it.

Well, Capcom has made like 3 Zelda games.



I don't think they have too much of a problem with letting 3rd parties make Zelda games.

i was going to saw that would be agianst copyright laws but i dont know anymore... nintendo might quallify it.

leave it to nintendo...i got nothing against retro an i liked metroid, but nintendo should continue doing it...

I would leave it to Nintendo myself. But the games they let Capcom make may be better if Retro Studios made it instead.

Retro is great at developing games so yeah, I think Nintendo should give them a chance. They made an almost flawless transition to 3D with the Metroid franchise, I think they could manage to overhaul Zelda while keeping it's core elements intact

I say leave it to Nintendo. Nintendo is what made the Zelda series so popular, by the way they created it. Remember those 3 Zelda games that some other company made other than Nintendo? Those Zelda games were horrid.

Exactly. We know Retro is very trustworthy at making awesome games and thinking up new innovative ideas.

Well Retro Studios is completly owned by nintendo, its a first party developer, so im sure nintendo will look after it well, and it might be interesting to see a fresh perspective on the zelda universe.
Only time will tell though.

Nintendo created Metroid and made it great. Retro took Metroid to 3D and kept it being as great as ever. By the way, I don't remember OoS and OoA being any bad at all

Agreed. I think Retro can manage to make an innovative Zelda game along with Nintendo. I really hope it happens

Gameplay alone, Retro would be awesome. But with 3 different companies tugging on one franchise, the timeline may be lost completely. By the end we'll be theorizing for Nintendo's Link, Capcom's Link, Retro's Link and Square-Enix's Link (hah, I wish!)

To be honest... I think Capcom makes Zelda as good if not better than Nintendo.

They need a chance to make a 3D Zelda. I think it'd kick ass.

which ones where those?

Oracle of Ages, Oracle Of Seasons, and The Minish Cap.

I think all of them are great, why does stealth think elswhere?

I think they derailed the Metroid franchise. The charm was completely gone with Metroid Prime, Echoes was just ridiculous. Maybe it's the americanization, I don't know, but I sure don't want to see the same thing happening to Zelda.
