Can anyone imagine what the next Zelda game will be like?

I can imagine what this next Zelda game will be like. But I can't imagine Nintendo doing it.

What do you think Nintendo have in stall for us?

Another game similar to TP?

Or a game where you play Link, a 12-year old boy that saves the world.

I'm looking forward to seeing an adult Link Zelda game. With horse-riding, and a much darker atmosphere. I want to see a game with extremely surreal forests. Remember the unchartered woods Link is exploring at the start of MM? Imagine those woods in TP graphics. I want to see a Hyrule with ranches, greatly-developed towns and see less of deserts and snowy mountains.

Re: Can anyone imagine what the next Zelda game will be like?

It'll continue TP Link's story, he'll leave Hyrule and find some new place with some new enemy doing who knows what to some people who look similar to the people in TP.

They're going to do a direct sequel, they always do, and it won't take place in Hyrule.

They are not going to do a direct sequel. I can tell you that.

Why?

They won't build the next Zelda off TWW's engine. TP used TWW's engine so I doubt they'll bother with a sequel for TP.

Re: Can anyone imagine what the next Zelda game will be like?

It's hopefully going to be something that will completely catch us fans out, something we weren’t expecting. At the end of the day it's really hard to imagine because you never know what ideas they have up their sleeves. However I do think that it will be a pretty big departure from the norm.

I know they scrapped the idea of doing a first-person game but you never know. I'd imagine they would keep the realism of TP too but somehow come up with a new art style, which would be cool. I also think that once again the new game will divide fans in the same way the WW did. I don’t know why, I can just sense it.

It will be near perfect. Or at least very good.

Re: Can anyone imagine what the next Zelda game will be like?

Yeah, I think it should keep the realism and maturity that TP had. A similar (and perhaps better) art style. It should keep the graphic's style and make some of the effects look a bit better - especially the textures.

i think that TP has near perfect textures that were absolutely more than good enough.
why do people focus so much on graphics? graphics don't matter so much, its how fun the game itself is. there is starting to be so much focus on graphics that games are losing there quality, just look at TP!

Now, OoT didn't have perfect graphics, but it was a long, good game because they focused more on the game itself than the graphics. this is exactly whats happening with all the other company's which is why i think Nintendo is best. sony/microsofts games are really low quality and they think there acceptable because they look nice.
I hope I've gotten a point across here.

Re: Can anyone imagine what the next Zelda game will be like?

I want to see a TP graphic Zelda game with an adult Link(around 20)

Two countires are at war. Hyrule and someother country. The war starts over 50 years before Link's Birth and is still going on. Basicly Link has lived his whole life in a time of war and chaos. He is then drafted into they Hyrule Army. During a battle he gets lost and finds himself in the enemies country(dont know how but he does)

He then somehow is forced to join the enemies army. So basicly Link has become a soldier in both Hyrules and the other Countries Army. He keeps his silence(which shouldnt be hard lmao) about it. He figures if he can figure out the source of the war he can stop it.

What he soon finds out is that their is a third party involved... only he has been kept quiet all this time. A new villian who wants to take control of both countries. He basicly wants the 2 to fight until both of them are weakend to the point where he can take control of them with ease. Link then tries to stop him.

What I would expect:

Puzzles of all kinds.
Large scale battles with both Link on and off epona.
Dungeons both like the traditional and a few like the "Snow Peak" one from TP. Basicly your in a big place going around doing errands for someone.
Some abandon Villages that were overrun by Moblins(i loved that part in TP)

Also I would like a difficulty level. Easy would be easy, Moderate and hard.

I think that would be a great game.

What the hell?! You're calling games like Gears of War, Guitar Hero 2 and Oblivion "low quality"?! If anything, Nintendo games are "Low quality". I doubt you've even had the privilege to lay your hand on a 360 or PS3 controller. I doubt you've even seen one game being played on either of those consoles. Seriously, what the hell, man?

As for the topic, ever since ZeldaWii was announced, I've imagined it as being a cross between MM and WW. A game with child Link, looking as he did in MM, but with bright, saturated colors (think Twilight-Realm). I've imagined Link walking through a lush jungle, slashing new, never-seen enemies.

Re: Can anyone imagine what the next Zelda game will be like?

I'm kinda getting over Zelda in a big way. Nintendo needs to come up with some more original story lines...The whole Ganondorf, save Princess Zelda thing. Been there done that. No matter how many times you try and remix it Nintendo, we've got the point already.

We don't really know what they'll do next. No doubt we'll have some epic trailer again to get us all hyped and we'll rush out and pre-order it and wait another couple of years for it. Hopefully not disappointed afterwards.

Re: Can anyone imagine what the next Zelda game will be like?

Hm...that's a pretty open-ended question. In terms of atmosphere, I'd imagine it as a place where everyone is in danger but briskly unaware of it. If you've ever played Fable you'll know what I'm talking about. And speaking of which, I want in Zelda what Fable had, especially in terms of visuals. Crisp, clean, living world filled with hi-res textures and high polygon models. And orchestrated music. Please, Nintendo, synthesized tracks are a dead technology. Hire an orchestra or don't make the game at all.

I'll try to think of more later on.

Blatant fanboyism, obviously. He can't think for himself. But this isn't a console debate topic...someone change the subject now.

Re: Can anyone imagine what the next Zelda game will be like?

*changes*

Well, I started to play Super Paper Mario today, and I would totally love to see a Paper Zelda.

Just kidding. XD

A Zelda game involving a war would be pretty sweet though. :3 I especially like the idea Minion gave.

Also, on the subject of SPM, it would be kinda nice to cut to the bad guy or Zelda after doing something. That's just me though.

Re: Can anyone imagine what the next Zelda game will be like?

My only real wish for the next Zelda is to have another sidestory with stuff like the Triforce, Ganondorf and the Master Sword being absent. Other than that, I'll just trust Nintendo. Preferably, it should break away from the norm more than TP did. But I'm not asking for anything major- the usual structure should remain virtually intact.

TP's biggest problems, at least as far as I'm concerned, was a lackluster plot and an overindulgence in re-using old ideas (there's a fine line between homaging for fans and repeating yourself). If Nintendo tackle these problems- better story + a bit more new ideas, I'll be a happy gamer.
Of course, the difficulty could be raised a few notches...but this doesn't worry me too much for some reason.

I totally agree.

If it were to take place in Hyrule they would have to change the overworld so you wouldn't feel like you're playing TP. And if they were to do that the fans would have a problem with the landscapes being so different from a game that just came out a few years prior, especially if it's the same Link from TP. It's a no win situation if you ask me. Unless of course they decided to do something drastic like cover Hyrule in water again.

I want a Hyrule with more small towns and to bring back masks (anything they don't have to have powers). Oh, and no sectioned Hyrule.

Uh, WW's engine was a heavily modified OoT/MM engine (which was a modified Mario 64 engine if I remember correctly), and TP was a heavily modified WW engine. They always build off the previous games unless it's going from handheld to console or vice-versa, they're not going to abandon something just because they've built off it in the past. It would be stupid to start from scratch after working on what they have for years. Whether the next console Zelda was a TP sequel or not, it would build off TP's engine, that's a no-brainer.

I hope the next one comes out faster than TP! They had us all waiting for so long! It was agony!

Better be better than what they made me sit through in TP, I expect a higher difficulty, if that's not changed then I'm going to be very disappointed again.

Not if Zelda will be taking drastic change. As in, a better battle system?
