Re: New Phantom Hourglass news!

So Link loses health slowly while in a Temple? It says why Lineback teams up with him, but not Shiera.

This is getting pretty good, though I'm not sure I like losing health or attack power as I try to figure out the puzzles of a Temple. On the other hand, if the temples are as easy as the ones in other new games, then it might not be a big thing.

Lose health in a temple? Sounds ridiculous, the more they say the more it sounds bad actually. I might not get it after all, I'm sorry but that is just ridiculous.

Seriously, they make a challenging game and people whine about it. Yet they complain that some of the games aren't difficult, go figure.
Isn't that what some people want? some change in this series?

Well I think it sounds intresting.

You're right. Any attempt to bring challenge back to the series should be encouraged. It's not like we haven't had to work around time limits before, right MM fans?

Re: New Phantom Hourglass news!

How ironic...

People complain the Zelda games are too easy.
Now Nintendo finally implements some difficulty into a Zelda game, and now you all whine that it may be too difficult.

Bunch of hypocrites most of you fans, I swear...

Re: New Phantom Hourglass news!

Well, losing health and strength are not what we complained about.

Maybe bigger temples ... newer puzzles ... stronger bosses... smarter enemies... but we definitely didn't say anything about losing health whilst in a Temple. Does that mean you can't leave your DS on the couch and go to the bathroom without dying?

Re: New Phantom Hourglass news!

It definitely sounds interesting. The losing of health will give intensity, pushing you to make the goal. Besides it gives a nice twist to the genre...Survival Adventure?

Re: New Phantom Hourglass news!

I don't know why, but I can't help laughing everytime I see Lineback. I think I'll like his presence in the game.

The information sounds good. I want Nintendo to fix the shape of Link's head though, it's so jagged and ugly looking at the moment.

I don't see anything wrong with Link's head, but they need to fiz those people's feet. Link, Lineback, and Tetra have tiny feet, like baby feet.

Ever heard of a pause button? Or maybe closing the DS into sleep mode?

Bigger temples aren't gonna add anything difficult. Smarter enemy AI would yes, but so would a cluster of enemies at once. Newer puzzles too, since most of what we've been playing are rehashes of previous puzzles.

I find the enery draining from the temple(s) is a unique idea. Sure you're limited in exploration, but atleast you're gonna be thinking on your feet and actually using your brain for once, rather than to solve everything at a slow pace with no difficult.

Players need to be more pressured nowadays anyway.

Even I agree Link's head looks pretty damn horrible...

Re: New Phantom Hourglass news!

I think fresh ideas are always welcome to the series. I just wonder how it's going to work with the bosses though? Unless the limit finishes when you enter the boss room or something. It looks promising though, I just hope for some good NPC interaction too.

Losing health slowly in a temple is the most unoriginal and ridiculous idea I've ever heard.

People don't have a problem with the gameplay in Zelda.

What they have a problem with is the easy difficulty when it comes to monsters.

As for changes in Zelda - People want good changes, not ridiculous tack-on changes like making your health drain slowly while in dungeons.

Re: New Phantom Hourglass news!

If we were just now hearing about MM's time system, though, we'd probably call that a ridiculous tack-on change too, I know I thought of it that way when I first heard about it. We just gotta give it a chance and see if it works with the game, and if it doesn't, then we can complain.

Re: New Phantom Hourglass news!

This sounds interesting. A time-limited Zelda game. We can handle that. I'm up for a good challenging game.

What I'm wondering is, how long will it take for the energy to deplete and how does Link go by collecting the sands? Also, is the saving feature going to be like in MM? (I hope not...)

Re: New Phantom Hourglass news!

In a way it almost adds a slight (and I do mean slight) levelling up edge? Players who wont bother collecting enough sands will find the dungeon that bit harder than those who went out searching. Plus, if your not meant to spend much time in the Dungeons, how are they going to stretch it out? More dungeons? Or more side-quests?

I personally didn't mind the save feature in MM but of course prefer when you can save anytime yet it remains to be seen.

I'd imagine the object of the game would be to collect the sans from Temples. Same as OoT's Medallions and such. So I don't players will be able to decide not to get more sand.
Anyway, the more I hear about PH the more I'm liking it. Is anyone else getting the feeling that this sounding a lot like MM- in the sense that it's the same Zelda formula but with added tweaks and new ideas that actually change the overall fee?. Energy sapped in dungeons sounds like a really interesting way to maybe up the difficulty. I'm liking the look of this game a lot...
Plus, it's looking like a fabulous return of Niko. Excellent.

Re: New Phantom Hourglass news!

Yeah, Re-dead, I like Niko too. I like how he calls me his swabby.

I was really getting into sailing in TWW, and him calling me swabby made me fell a little more like a part of the crew.
