Make a sidekick/partner for Link!

I couldn't find a thread on this, so here we are. Make up an idea for a side kick or partner for Link! Be it playable or not playable, male or female, whatever, just give us the details! Describe your idea with personality, physical appearance, if he/she has a weapon and what that weapon is, how the character helps Link and if the character is playable, state the pros and cons. Here's my idea from my Zelda fanfic, The Legend of Zelda: The Hidden Powers.

Name: Kelli
Race: Hylian
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Playable: Yes

Weapon: Kelli wields a mystical blade known as the Sun Sword. Having the power of the blade, she can destroy monsters with the evil of the sun in their hearts with ease. She also has a shield that goes with the sword (the Sun Shield), which acts like a Mirror Shield towards magic sun attacks. Meaning, it deflects them back at the attacker.

Personality/Physical Appearance: Kelli looks somewhat like Link, wearing the classic green tunic and blonde hair (though her's is a lighter blonde), but with differences. She doesn't have a green hat, instead Kelli wears a black headband given to her when she was but a young child. Her eyes are a teal blue and are brighter in color than Link's. She has rather long legs, which make her almost the same height as Link, only slightly shorter by an inch. Her boots look like Saria's, 'cept they're brown instead of green and they're high-heeled. I've got a pic of her right here, though it's not excellent. Kelli's supposed to be what men her age would call a "hot warrior chick," but I don't think she quite looks that in my drawing. :/

Her personality is quite different than what someone would expect from a heroine like Kelli. She tends to be bossy and impatient, yet kind and caring at the same time. She also has a habit of being pessimistic in bad times, though not all the time. You'd think Kelli could easily make men fall in love with her due to her beauty, but that's only partly true. Some male warriors take one look at her and think she's just a beautiful girl who doesn't know the least bit about swordplay. In reality, if you mess with this girl, watch out! Kelli packs a good fight! While not being perfect, Kelli does have both friends and enemies (one being Navi, ironically), but when she has to deal with her enemies, she won't fight unless needed. She's also long tempered.

Playability pros and cons:
Pros:

- Is faster and more agile than Link, due to her light body and long legs
- Knows more sword skills than Link (however she occasionally teaches Link a skill or two)
- Jumps farther and higher due to greater speed
- Can kill sun monsters more easily
- Has slightly better aim with the bow

Cons:

- Isn't as good with the shield as Link, so she's more vulnerable to being hit (though her excellent sword skills sometimes make up for this)
- Is weaker in terms of physical strength, so Kelli can't lift everything Link can
- Doesn't have as big a role as Link
- Can't kill moon monsters as easily as Link (He gets to wield the other mystical blade, the Moon Sword)
- Doesn't have as many other weapons and items as Link

As for how Kelli helps Link, she does a lot for him. She gives him a lot of information concerning the two mystical blades, the Sun and Moon Swords, she helps him complete a couple dungeons and mini dungeons, and she teaches him a couple sword skills. Kelli also teaches Link her special song so he can communicate with her while far away if he needs immediate help. Finally, Kelli helps Link defeat the baddie of the story. Link also helps Kelli in many ways, but that's a different matter.

This is Kelli from The Hidden Powers, but a new Kelli descended from this Kelli appears in my idea for a TP sequel. Once I get that fic started (which I won't be for awhile) and have developed her enough, I'll post her here too.

So? Doesn't mean I can't make a thread about it and post my idea. I think Link should have a partner like the one I made above.

I don't believe you. I've seen threads like this before, yet I never saw a lot of posts saying the idea was bad.

Kynnella, Kelli is alright in my opinion, but not really Link's style. I think Link should have a companion, but he/she shouldn't be a Hylian.

A horse is my idea. It's a simple one, but the idea is that Requienne (that's her name) is descended from Epona. At some point in the game, she grows wings. Link is the only one who can communicate with her. She's intelligent, but in a different way. Hard to explain. If you've read Wolf Brother, think Wolf from that.

Or Link could go it alone. That'd also be cool.

To give an opinion in this matter, I really think that Link doesn't need any help from other (possible) playable characters as you've stated above. I wouldn't do any good to the series. The help given in a way that Navi and or Tatl does for example is more suitable for the series than instead as you proclame another playable character with his or her own abbilties. So thus remains, as it is meant to be, Link the playable character.

You know, I think I forgot to mention one important thing. I never said Kelli was with Link all the time. She is with him for a good portion of the story, but not the entire thing.

And I like your horse idea! I love horses, so yeah. A horse with wings would be really cool. Not just another Epona, but a horse that actually helps you out more and is more intelligent.

Do navi and midna not count in this partner debate? Link already has a "sidekick".

No, they are more like "helpers". they're in the same category as Ezlo, Tatl and the King of Red Lions.

If Link had a sidekick I personnally would give him a zora. Why? because I like them

Now stop bashing at me. Link's had partners in a lot of the games already and you go say he doesn't need one? Apparently he did in the games he had one. I like it when Link has partners. In OoT, he had Navi. In MM, Tatl (though I hated her), in TMC, Ezlo. In TP, Midna. In TWW, King of Red Lions.

And I don't think Link sucks. Don't put words in my mouth. I think he's uber cool.

She is a near mirror-image of Link, she's your normal, agile Sue who fights extremely well despite wearing friggin high heels, she's described as beautiful...
