Re: What do you hope for in the new Legend of Zelda game?
I like TP's world the way it was. So much bigger! More to explore! Yeah, Clawshots and Ball and Chain were my personal favs in the game. I would love to have those back. They kept clawshots for 2 games in a row now, I'm sure it will stay. Usually they are good about keeping good weapons in. I have no doubt the boomerang and clawshots will stay in the new game. Hopefully the double clawshots too.

Re: What do you hope for in the new Legend of Zelda game?
Closed-minded? Bah.
Okay. More ranting. I want space to be used. What? What kind of space? You know TP's Hyrule Field, and how it was so huge? Yeah. There was NOTHING in it. Seriously. I want to see some small little villages and towns added, places where you can restock and do mini-quests and things. I want sidequests. Not just a few, like bug collecting and poes. I want a RIDICULOUS amount of sidequests. Something that gives me a reason to replay the game over and over just so I can get all of the sidequests done. Seriously. GIVE ME A LOT OF THEM. I don't care if their long or short, put some in there! I want non-linearity. TP was so linear...it made me cry. Let's see some non-formulaic dungeons, let's see something fresh and original, something that gets me lost in all of the twisting tunnels. And I don't mean Water Temple-lost, I mean actually lost.

Somebody in another thread made an excellent weapon idea: Proximity mines.

Re: What do you hope for in the new Legend of Zelda game?
Three words: More Transformation Masks!
Imagine this. You go through a mini-dungeon, and-What's this? A Green Darknut? You use the Clawshot to remove it's helmet, and fire three bomb arrows at it, defeating it. After beating it, a heart piece and it's helmet come down. "You got the Darknut's Helm! Equip and use it to take the form of this Knight Captain!" *Drools at the thought* |

Re: What do you hope for in the new Legend of Zelda game?
As much as I love Majora's Mask, bringing back masks again would be lame. The idea of masks tied into the moral theme of Majora's Mask perfectly, it would lose its substance if they were put in another Zelda game just to be there.
I'd much rather Nintendo go for something more original for the series, but I do like the idea of transformations because they add variety to the gameplay. Perhaps summoning creatures, and taking control over them for a short period of time? I don't know, but I would like Zelda Wii to introduce a drastic change in gameplay without it becoming just another lame gimmick. *cough* Wolf Link *cough* |

Re: What do you hope for in the new Legend of Zelda game?
Yeah, that would be a cool idea, but it would have to be done in a non-gimmicky way like the transformation masks in Majora's Mask. By that, I mean dungeons, puzzles, and battles should be based around the mastery of those forms, or summons.

Re: What do you hope for in the new Legend of Zelda game?
I would say we need about 6 dungeons that can be done when ever you want but you would need to get items in order to get through certain parts. How do you get the items? Side quests and mini dungeons.
Probobly an MM with different plot and a little Original LoZ mixed together. With cool new items and awsome puzzles. |

Re: What do you hope for in the new Legend of Zelda game?
There are many things I hope are in the next Zelda game. For one I think voice acting is a must. TP had many cinematic parts, which just didn't really come to life because of lack of voices. Link should not talk though. That's just become part of his character. And no, this wouldn't ruin the franchise. If you think something like adding voice acting will ruin Zelda forever, then you aren't much of a fan in the first place. And once you actually played a Zelda with voice acting, you would realize it isn't so bad. The voice acting would be good of course. I wouldn't worry about bad voice acting. This is the Zelda series after all.
Fully orcherstrated music. Many games have it, so why not Zelda? I'm tired of midi music. The game would just sound so much better with real instruments. It would be more involving and more pleasant to listen to. The whole game shouldn't all be orchestrated though. They should use appropriate instruments for the differents areas. Like if you had a jungle/swampy area, you would hear strange drums and other instruments that sound like they would come from that area. One problem about the music in TP was that the music did well in setting the atmosphere, but usually wasn't very good. I want to hear music in dungeons, that not just sets the atmosphere, but is something I would put on my iPod. And no more recycled music either. OK, maybe at most three songs per game that were used in a previous game. But they should be used far away from eachother, and they should all sound better, and be a little different from the original version. They would mostly be there to remind you that you're playing a Zelda game. TWW did a decent job at this, but not TP. Otherwise, all music should be original, and catchy. One thing I thought would be cool, is if each new Zelda game had a different theme. You heard Midna's theme throughout TP, so it would be something like that. Better graphics are a must. I'm not asking for PS3 graphics, but graphics that push the Wii like Super Mario Galaxy would be welcomed. Better use of Wii controls. The controls in TP didn't really do anything new. Slashing the Wiimote just did the same thing as pressing the B button. Do something you can only do on the Wii. Like slashing vertically will make like slash vertically. They could have a good system where you can slash, horizontal, vertical, diagonal, and stab. And you should be able to slash, left to right/right to left, up/down top right to bottom left, etc. This would change sword fighting for the better. You would be able to find new openings and fight different enemies like never before. This type of gameplay would require you to earn a little skill so you can take on harder enemies. And it would make up for some amazing boss duels. You should be able to choose which hand you equip your sword to, though. Maybe you could evern equip two swords at once, or if you're feeling stupid two shields. And base some other items off the Wiimote. I would like to see mini games and puzzles that make use of the Wiimote. Like turning cranks, pulling levers and other such things. Kind of what they have going on in Metroid Prime 3. And if you're going to have a fairy cursor make it part of the story. Kind of like Navi but less annoying. Heck maybe it could even play a bigger role, maybe you could use it to click on people and signs or other such things to get some info on them. It could maybe serve something like a mouse clicker. You should be able to hide though so it doesn't get in they way. More dungeons. And innovative ones too. Maybe they could have more than one boss? Maybe you might or might not get an item. Maybe a different objective than just collecting some artifact? Like freeing the cartpenters in the Gerudo Fortress but much larger. More sidequests. We get things like collecting heart pieces and poes. Which do take awhile, but they aren't much like quests and are more like just collecting things. I want more engaging sidequests like the ones in MM, but with less waiting. I think they should also have some pub you can go to where you can take mission requests (kind of like in FFXII). They send you off to do some mission, like taking out a bad guy, stealing something from some stronghold or slaying a dragon that has been causing problems. The more missions you do the more you should unlock. Maybe each one could have a story, like you steal something from a group of thieves for a mission and in the next mission you have to protect the thing you stole back from being stolen again. Once you complete a mission you should be given a reward. You could have a logbook which shows how many missions you've done, etc. A Cave of Ordeals-like dungeon should be in this one. So once you get all of those awesome extras you will have something to put them to use. And I think they should put in like four secret bosses. You could fight them any time, but they would be insanely hard, and they would be near impossible even after you have everything. They need bigger wallets in this game too. I was always running out of space for my wallet. Even when I got the best wallet it was too late and was still always full. You should get bigger wallets, and earlier in the game. There should also be a bank to store your rupees. And an original story too. I don't want to see Zelda, Ganon, the Triforce, or Hyrule for a looong time. And no more stupid gimmicks like turning into a wolf. That was annoying, and I hated playing as that wolf. Meh, that was a lot I had to say. Maybe I'll think of something later. |
