Clothes for Link!

What kinds of new tunics and boots would you want to see on everybody's favorite Hylian hero? Post your ideas here!

As for me, I'd like to see a tunic that can turn Link invisible! He could sneak past enemies and people easily that way. ALttP did have the Magic Cape which turned him invisible, yes, but it wasn't all that useful. And why not make it an actual tunic that turns him invisible instead of just a cape? As for a pair of boots, you know how Pegasus Boots make Link run faster, right? Well how about a pair that can make him jump higher? He could reach high areas that way. Maybe we can call them the Moonjump Boots or something.

EDIT: Crap...I meant to post this in the Future Zelda forum. I must have clicked on the wrong board by mistake! I'm so sorry! >.<

Re: Clothes for Link!

I'd see him in a leather outfit. Tight leather.

You know, just for fun.

Well this sis gonna get moved anyway... I'd like to see him in this:

Yes it's just adding a old rubbish cape but it gives him a cool "outlaw" feel.

Re: Clothes for Link!

^That cape does look pretty cool.

As for boots, how about boots that let him run up walls and maybe even ceilings if he keeps moving? And not slow ones that require magnetic walls like the Iron boots. They could be called... run-up-wall boots... I don't know. It could be a cool idea, though.

I like Sun Gardians idia of a invisible tunic. I think what would be cool is have a tunic that would allow link to walk through walls and other solid objects. Call it the Ghost Tunic. All nonmagical attacks wouldn't hurt him either, theyed just pass harmlessly through him.

Thumbs up

i have dreamed for a thread on the front page like this!

hat:same old, to get the same feel

face:i was thinkin maybe more of a human face with less pointy body parts. maybe 1 awesome earring.

tunic:A new tunic would be nice. Theres normal water and fire. There needs to be a wind element in the game. For flight and what-not. It could be white colored.

pants:LOSE THE TIGHTS!!!!! He needs actual pants. maybe some old gray jeans.

boots:A new kind of boot could be a pegasus boot for the 3D games!

overall:he would look like...better!!!

Negative. You said if he keeps his hat it'll have the same feel, well, if you remove Link's tunic it'll also lose it's feel, especially if you keep the hat, oh and not to mention in Hyrule I doubt they'd have Jeans :XD

Now, back on topic for me.

Like in WW, after you complete it you should be able to have an alternate costume, like Link's casual clothes, and have an option to play it through a second time. I really liked that repeat thing which was put into WW, gave it a very rewarding feel. (At least to me XD I loved Link's Outset Clothes.)

But I do think Nintendo should start giving Link's tunics some cooler abilities rather than water-proof and fire-proof. What about, say, a camoflague tunic? Similar to the Stone Mask from MM, but not invisible permanently. Invisible I think is a little overpowered, as people will just constantly use it and not fight anything.

I could probably go on and on, but first I'll let some more replies roll in X)

Edit:

Well, I put a tunic like that in my Zelda fic, 'cept it's called the Invisibility Tunic. But you did give me another idea! A Ghost Tunic could give Link ghost powers and make him walk through walls and such. He could become the Danny Phantom of the Zelda series with it!

Jeans(or trousers in general)+tunic= fashion nightmare.

Seriously. Trousers just wouldn't work with a tunic. With another outfit, yeah. but not with a tunic.

As for the invisibility tunic, it's already been in the Zelda series (as the magic cape in Alttp). It'd be nice to see it make a return, methinks.

Re: Clothes for Link!

There hasn't been an Invisibility Tunic in the series yet. The Magic Cape is not a tunic. It wasn't very useful anyway, like I said before. I'm thinking instead of a cape, there should be a tunic with the same abilities, maybe more, and make it more useful.

I like that, I really like that. I thought of a cloak myself--I think it would just work really well and would also make more sense in cold or rainy environments.

Lol. Latex.

I'll like to see him in a "shadow cloak" which makes him invisible in the darkness.

Or a fur coat that can help him survive great cold.

It amounts to the same thing, though, doesn't it?

But yeah, it'd be nice to see something along those lines as an important item.

Re: Clothes for Link!

No. The Invisibility Tunic would also allow Link to see through fake walls. It's like a combo of the Magic Cape and Lens of Truth.

Re: Clothes for Link!

I saw this design on a website, and I really liked it:

If Nintendo chooses to make Link a child in Zelda Wii, I'ld like to see a design that resembles that, but I want my Link to have longer legs (I'm not a fan of the stubby legs).

If Nintendo chooses to make Link an adult in Zelda Wii, I'd like him to have a revamped outfit. I'm kind of bored of seeing pretty much the exact same clothing on every Link. If Link is different in Zelda Wii, give him a different outfit! Of course, I think the classic green hat must always be a part of the outfit, but the green skirt and tights are letting old. I was fooling around on paint the other day, and came up with this:

I am also a fan of Nintendo giving Link a cape or a scarf. Seeing it blow in the wind and move back as Link ran would be candy for the eyes!

Since I do not know ho to quote.... The predator, with the outlaw thing, YOU STOLE MY IDEA! (even though you didn't know it. )
I think he should be in a soiders outfit. also he should have the platnium gauntlets, which let him throw enimes and could be used for various minigames.
