Link settling down?

I just had a thought.

What if they made a Zelda game where Link and Zelda were now the father and mother of a new hero?
Ganondorf is gone, and peace and tranquility have fallen over the land. But tension grows as a new power rises, something new and unseen. A warlock or witch of some kind, maybe. It's up to this new kid, being the son of the Hero of Time, to save the day!

Any thoughts?

I think there are different love intrests for "different" Links.

Anyways, about your idea. It seems okay. I would check it out.

Well, the idea can be stretched in any way. For instance, he could settle down with Malon, or someone else. And at the start, there would be three generic kids, with different looks and things, and you'd pick hair and starting clothes. As you progress through the game, you'd buy new armor and clothes, having many choices, and mix and match to create your ultimate new Hero of Time.

your story is ok but im not big on the Link + Zelda stories lines.

ive always thought that as Zelda is a princess she is no doubt in an arranged marriage to a prince or son of a noble, more than likely for the purposes of strentghening an alliance with a neighbouring province or Kingdom.

and Link isnt exactly of noble birth, least not to my knowledge, son of a warrior possibly, esp OOT link, his fath no doubt fought and more than liekly died in the war pre OOT.

Thats not to say i dont deny the ppossiblity of Link settling down i jsut dont really see it happening with Zelda, for me, someone more like Malon is a more logical choice.

OOT link, after returning from Termina grows up, marries Malon lives on the ranch, hence why TP link is a ranch hand, like his grandfather or great grandfather, or something like that.

i know that, that is probably wrong but is some way that makes sense to me.

However the Link that saved Hyrule would still be alive. If a new problem arose after Ganon's defeat, it seems like the tried and true hero would go out and save the day before sending his son to do the job.

To fix this a few things could be changed...
Perhaps both Ganon and Link perish in the final battle, and then it is up to his son to take on the new evil.

I would hate it i seriously would not saying thats its a bad idea its just i wouldnt like it....it would be like OOT link appearing in WW...it would be wierd.

father dies, son goes to seek revenge, despite mothers pleadings. not exactly LOZ-esque, but its an interesting storyline, but im no s osure link would easily get himself killed.

...If Link settles down and one of his children goes on a quest instead, wouldn't that make the child the new Link? Also, Link is never old enough to do that in any of the games. It's funny that Link has developed his own identity, despite initially being little more than the "link" between the player and the game.

That's an interesting idea that I've sometimes pondered, but with a twist: What if Link was the son going to seek revenge? He's never really had a family, after all. Even if he didn't have one, he could perhaps have a mentor or some close friends.

I am not keen on the Link and Zelda being the father of a new Link. I would like to see Link's parents nontheless.

No... I'd rather not see that. First of all, I like playing as Link. I don't want to see Link trying to be a father, hard to be a good mentor when you can't talk. I basically don't want to see him as a simple human, because that would be too wierd... Plus, the son of the Hero of Time isn't the next hero. It seems each hero is more of a reincarnation, not a descendant.

actually from what ive gathered and this is probably heavily influenced by Fan fiction or just my idiotic theories, but in OOT you had that war where Link's father died, and his mother escaped into the forest, not its been a while but isnt that the war where Ganondorf rose to power? Ganondorf is the reason for this war, so on a very small technicality Ganondorf killed links father, and Link defeats Ganondorf. you could think of that as revenge.

Interesting, I never thought of that... It's possible, but we don't know if that's the case for sure--and Link is a hero in OoT more because of destiny than to get revenge (I'm thinking of the talk he had with the Deku Tree Sprout).

the deku sprout speaks mostly of the mother, very little is know of the father.

i assume that all able bodied men would be summoned to fight, and if need be die to protect the lands and its people. as there is no real mention of the father i like to think this is what happened to him.

Ocarina of time lnik doesn't exist in Hyrule B.

I still don't see why we are discussing this. The whole story about marriage and things is dependant on the person who played the games and however they're imagination fills in the holes after each story. And it also depends on which women the person thinks is going to marry Link. So, it's all opinionated so there is no point in discussing this at least, that's how I see it.

Personally, I think that Link would go for Malon. But if he went for Zelda, it would be more of a royal thing. But I don't really know.

I HATE PRODIGY SON STORIES. I'd burn it if Zelda and Link gave birth to some sin-spawn that followed his dear daddy's footsteps and saved Hyrule.
