Ganon's Army
Many games talk about Ganon's Army, which probably means the monsters. But we never actually see an actual army. I want to fight wave after wave after wave of enemies. I would like to see Hylian Soldiers fighting. Who's played Lord Of The Rings on Gamecube or Xbox or PS2? The beginning scene, where you play as Isildur alongside other soldiers. I want to see Link fight armies just like that.
I think towards the end of the game, there should be an epic battle with ganons army. It should take place in Hyrule field, and there will be people all races joining the Hylian army. Goron warriors in armour ( like the Goron Mine Suboss. Man that would be awesome) fighting along side like battletanks. Zora cavalry riding along the rivers with their leviathan fish steeds attacking ganons boats. It would be on a truly epic proportion. There would be maybe 3-4 stages of the battle. The footbattle Just on the field where you hold off the enemies from the castle for a set ammount of time. The river Board a Hylian Boat and destroy 30 of Ganons ships, with the Zora's help to continue. There are 3 types of ship that ganon have. 10 of each must be destroyed. The mountains You fight alongside Gorons to regain the mountaintop goron fortress that has been overrun. This opbjecctive is optional, though at the fortress once retaken, you can stock on items and call upon gorons to aid you in battle. The Castle You retreat to the castle to hold off Ganon and his approaching army. But ganon wouldnt just have bokoboblins and Bulbins. He should have army elites. His army should be something like this: Infantary, footsoldiers Bulbins. These would come in the hundreds, thousands even. There would be about 5-10 waves of them Lizalfos Attack in regiments of about 50 at a time. Ranged soldiers Bow Bulbins There would be lines of 6-10 or so of these. These lines would be scattered aroudn the battle. Bomb cyclops ( from ALttP) there wouldnt be many of these. They would be scattered around the battlefield, trying to get as close to your soldiers as possible and throw a volley of bombs in Bow Molbins Just randomly scattered around in moderation Attack power Moblins There would be quite a few of these. About 1 to every 5 Bulbins. They lead the moblins Redead knights Screw the sunlight rule, these guys are out and about. It makes it worse when they scream, as about 50 other monsters will attack you once you freeze. Stalfos These will come in regiments. And attack you all at the same time. Best to throw bombs into the centre to take 'em out Dinofols There will be many of these to fight Elite enemies Iron Knuckles There will be many of these, but they will be spread out in the battlefield. Darknut Like the iron knuckle in the spread out factor, but sometimes 3 or 4 might gang up on you like in the cave of ordeals. But dont worry, if you are low on hearts, just go kill enemies in hope of finding some. Aerial Enemies Aeralfols They tend to stay alone, though occasionally you might see a pack of 3-10 Helmaroc Spread out, and annoying when fighting one of the more tougheer enemies and they decide to swoop in on you Gyorg Just the smaller males, very uncommon. Usually found in the River level, but some in other levels. The female will pop up from time to time. Just ignore her- she'll fly away eventually Argorok Unless you have a phetish about killing flying things, just wait until he goes away. Water Enemies Zola Very common in the river level, but easy to defeat and not take damage Octorock same as Zola, just slower and more powerful Piranha Fish Only annoying if you fall in the river somehow, off your boat. Morpheel Dont put the iron boots on underwater. Just dont. So yeah, I have thought this throught quite a lot. What are your thoughts on Ganon's Army?

Re: Ganon's Army
That sounds like a good idea. I have thought a bit about the army thing, and would like something kind of like Lord of the Rings, where they fight thousands and thousands of enemies. The only problem is the programming of this fight. If you have thousands of Bulblins and other enemies, there are going to be a lot of bugs and glitches with it. A system can only hold so much graphics and programming at one time. I would love that though. And instead of Gyorgs in the water, maybe one of the giant Octorocks in the water attacking you at random and you can kill it, but it's very hard. And with the redead army, maybe a malevolent led cloud could come and make it dark, like in LOTR.

Yeah....I like these ideas as well. Maybe you can get the Zelda creators to read this and they can use this idea for the next Zelda game.

Re: Ganon's Army
Good idea, but it would be hecka hard and everybody would hate you if they actually got this idea from you. I mean come on, 50 lizalfos, some dinalfos, 3 to 4 darknuts, all the helmarocs flying around, and add on top of that the fact that you cant do anything about it cuz you have redeads screaming at you? That combo alone could take anybody on, screw the infantry and little units.

Re: Ganon's Army
well, the undead wouldn't necisarily have to be evil... i mean, the army of ikana...
anyway, i would imagine the majority of ganon's army filled up by whatever-blins... then there would be wizrobes summoning stalfos (and occasionaly redeads) from fallen soldiers (even from your own team) there would also be variations of lizalfols... and occasionaly a giant boss rank monster appearing (think the adult OoT dungeon bosses, volvagia, phantom ganon, twinrova, all that) dodongo's would act as war beats with no intelligence of their own... i guess there could be deku scrubs in the army (FSA evil ones) argorok would act as air support... and water support... i don't think there would be any intelligent water support, but they would act as war beasts along with the whatever-blins on warboats. oh, and iron knuckles and darknuts would obviously be plentiful (armor covered whatever-blins/stalfos) and how could i forget... gerudo warriors would probably join... although they would probably fight for both sides |

Re: Ganon's Army
Pretty cool idea. Except I think the ReDeads should be the dead soldiers of both armies, and there should be Hylians on both sides (I mean, some of them would join Ganon or whoever it is), and a few monsters on your side. You could initially charge with the cavalry, perhaps your horse could be winged so you could fly up and defeat some Aeralfos while dodging arrows, and different phases of the battle sound good. Then you and Ganon (or whoever) retreat so you can finish him off in an epic aerial battle, and then kill him on a cliff, releasing some of the monsters from his influence and turning the tide of the battle.
I'd love to see that in a Zelda game. That'd rule.

Re: Ganon's Army
Yeah that would be so much fun and I remember that I read somewhere that they where planning to do that in TP but they took it out. I just hope they put it in the next Zelda game.

Re: Ganon's Army
There wouldnt be that many glitches as people would think. Its just putting the coding for monsters into a huge battle. It could go glitchy, but thats what tests are for. If anything, it would have terrible lag, but it could take place over 2 disks as to avoid too much lag and slow down.
Quote:
Imagine the colosseum battle. You fight a few hard enemies, but if you are low on health, just go kill weak ones and hope for health. I forgot to include a magic section. I suppose it wouldl include Wizzrobes ( All elements) and..um.. other magic enemies. Imagine the Cave Of Ordeals all rolled into one, fat level. Then give yourself an army to match it. I would love to see this split into many parts, like I said in the parent post. The Warzone- Most of the combat takes place here. Spread all around Hyrule field, so hard to avoid. The bay- Maybe the war spreads into Termina too? If not, then it would be The river But a fat river as there will be aquatic wars there with the Zoras Versus Zolas, and you versus moblin warships The mountain- Gerudo's have taken Death Mountain, and once retaken, items can be obtained from the many goron shops The Skies- Take flight on a Helmaroc and snipe down as many Aeralfos as possible. Get hit and plummet down into the warzone. The forest- Moblins have set the forest on fire and without help, it will all burn down. Shops will open after it has been saved. The desert Gerudo's roam the plains, guarding something important You get the idea: I want an army and I want it good

Re: Ganon's Army
Great idea. There could also be a variation of it, sort of like Age of Empires, though not on PC, where you'd control regiments of Gorons, Zoras, Dekus and Hylians all together, each with their different strong and weak points. I think that'd be an awesome game. I'd like the Goron part. Something about the sheer strength and yet kind interior of Gorons make me love them so much.

Re: Ganon's Army
....Thats Beamos who shoot lasers. Eyegores are the big stone statues that you shoot arrows into the eyes.
But yeah, they could be included, but seeing as beamos are stationary, they would guard certain area's, like the forest and the mountain. Not in the Warzone. Eyegores could just be some crazy beserker type thing that just rush at high speeds towards you.

Eyegore - Zelda Wiki.org
i'm talking about the MM style eyegores. they shoot laser beams like machine guns and can shoot the earth by slamming it. they're awsome. |

Re: Ganon's Army
Like, in the forest, they could have "mine" type things where if you stepped on it, one of those...crap, those things. (The vine things with mouths - can't remember the name ><) Well, anyways, one of those would come up and bite you. Yeahhhh.
Gorons could have berserkers too, and, pardon me, but 'kamikaze gorons', who roll into the lines with bombs and explode. I doubt they'd die, though, as evidenced in OoT, when the Goron rolling down the mountain trying to blow up the rock in front of Dodongo Caverns explodes multiple times. Dodongos! Yeah! In the mountains. Edit: Those things are Deku Babas. Forgot there, for a second.

Re: Ganon's Army
@__@ I like this idea. And, and, there should be Hylians on both sides too like someone said. The whole war thing should be something that builds up throughout the story until near the end when the actual thing happens. >3
It'd probably be one of the hardest things ever in a 3D Zelda game though. Teehee. |

Re: Ganon's Army
Nice idea my fan fic in development has a battle between outsiders and yrule with ganon (unknown to be evil) a commander in the Hylian army (later found out to be taken out from the inside by the king of darkness.
mmh ganons army, my version is kind of like yours. Hyrule field you command a small force of a few hundred hylian soldiers against Ganons Moblin/Boblikin/boarbackboblikins army commanded by King Bulbin. Objective defeat the King and deplete the enemy forces (you lose but a good fight in this battle makes next bit easier) if your army loses yet you dont die you have to retreat on epona up to death mountain through a burning karakiko when you are up a little bit (dodongos cavern oot) you turn and are confronted by king bulbin *commence horse back duel* Fmv atop death mountain at base you see Stalfos and skeledogs ravaging karakiko and their commander (the Aribiter sees you) they are coming commence archery fight or if you have the guts you will run down and fight alongside the gorons. Dodongos emmege from cavern to make matters worse. and boblikins from previous fight. think helms deep ladders and such. Kaepora Gaebora comes to rescue and takes you to the zoras domain where you enter the king of red lions (not ww link he knows nothing of it previous link) take out the ships of war. water enimes everywhere. you can see sights evry where you look. just watch out for Gyorg morph and morpheel. Climb on enimy battle ship and kill redeads. inside duel with your darkside. you win boat crashes when river hist the gorge at gerudo. Gerudos at civil war basicly naboorus gerudos in your team evils in twinrovas army of anubiss, gibdos, aromed knuckles, bemos etc. just as you are about to land the finishing blow on one of the twinrova sisters the other one warps you to lost woods where you assist kokiri fight large insects lead by armogohma.(you can flee b ut they raised you) witj the final blow to armogohma you run tohyrule field jump on epona and ride to the castle holding a limp saria injured in battle. kill all who get inyour way. castle grand finale Ganons forces phantoms/poes/moblins/ogres/boblikins/bulbins/ almost all enemies you need to take out many in the archers, then on foot. retreat to the castle. you must not let enimies get to zeldain the throne room you duel with ganon
