New Wii Zelda gameplay idea!

Hey everyone! You know how some people have complained of a bad camera control in TP when fighting foes? I have come up with an idea that fixes it.

-There is full-turn camera control.

But you will be able to fight more enemies than every all at once without it becoming confusing.

How?

You know the fairy pointer in the Wii version of TP? That could be used to lock on enemies. So a target-system has still been kept but instead you point at enemies and press Z to lock on so you know which enemy you want to lock on with. And while fighting enemies, you can turn your camera all the way around Link to see what's going on behind Link. If an enemy is running up toward Link from behind - you can quickly point and the enemy and press Z at the same time to lock onto that enemy and sheild yourself from getting hurt.

Intergrated with fully developed motion controls it could make one hell of a game.

Also the pointer could be used for many other possibilites. Such as running around as you do with a sword but with a bow instead and pointing wherever you want and shooting your enemies down by pointing at the enemy, locking, then shooting with B.

Not to mention how magic could be intergrated with combat

Why don't you keep this in the last thread you made, instead of making new topics? I'm just wondering?

Woah......that was weird.

Anyway, I agree. The camera system in WW and TP was amazing. But, it's going to be very had to accomplish that on the Wii. Your idea is a little funky IMO, it would get annoying after awhile.

Um, no.

That sounds stupid. First off, if the controls EVER go 1:1 on the Wii, like so many want to happen, you will suck. Sword fighting isn't so easy when you actually have to know how to fight with a sword.

Secondly: There are entire franchises dedicated to doing just that. It's not that I want to see more and more enemies comming at him. That isn't epic.

How about one or two enemies that can actually KILL YOU. There is a challenge Nintendo. DOn't give me mroe easy crao, give me some hard enemies.

Yeah, TP is a dissapointment in that department. To call it as good as OoT would be shameful. OoT can still outbeat TP in swordfighting even 8 years later...

Yea, a 360 degree vision would be nice, once again.
Loved the WW, though.^^

In your opinion. I thought combat was a whole lot smoother in TP. I'd like to see Ocarina of Time's difficulty (maybe even harder) with TP's actual swordlpay.

Anyway, the idea is ok, but I think pointing at every enemy would get too tedious. When it comes to combat, I think they should go with what works. I don't want 1:1 swordplay much, but I would like to see a horizontal attack performed by swinging it horizontally, etc.

TP has the hidden skills and motion sensing. OoT is just mashing buttons; there isn't even a distinction between a vertical slice and thrust. In my opinion, TP's combat is better (just my opinion, before someone flames me for it).

Here's a compromise: if you're too damn lazy to use the pointer all the time (which I bet most of you are) then when you target, you just target the nearest enemy. Simple. And I can see the free camera with the pointer working, but it probably won't happen...I mean, if it was something that would work, Nintendo would have done it with a Wii game by now, I reckon. And:

An example of someone forcing down their opinion and making it sound like fact. A lot of people on this forum do it for some reason...

Forcing down your throat? Making it sound like facts?

1. The enemies are easy. So send more at me to destory without being touched doesn't sound fun. Sure, it's an opinion, but the fact is there easy and I WOULD PREFER to see harder ones.

2. I am not forcing anyone to believe what I think needs to be done. It's my opinion and by "forcing" it I just assume you mean my strong belief in my own thoughts.

I agree with that. IMHO, they were pretty easy...but considering I'm a rubbish gamer, I wasn't as affected by that as everyone else. The abscence of proper Moblins, Likelikes and the such is disappointing.

I think your idea is very good, especially the bit about the bow, that would be so immense.
