Question Zelda On The Virtual Console

Nintendo should've put all the zelda games as launch titles for the virtual console instead of only putting on 1 and then putting on a sonic game sbecause nintendo and sega have teamed up (again!!!!!!.) I would like to know what everybody else thinks though!

Re: Zelda On The Virtual Console

I think that when people bought Twilight Princess you should have gotten a free download for the original Legend of Zelda. I also think they should do this for other games for example, when buying Mario Galaxy you should get the original Super Mario Brothers for free. This would definatly get a lot of people into the virtual console.

It would definitely catch my interest. If I bought a game, with a free download of an older game...that'd be like awesome.

As for all the Zelda games out, most of them are not for the Virtual Console (as of yet) because Nintendo is still working on everything even though the console is out. Anyways, you can get most of them on the Zelda Collector's Edition for the GCN.

Reggie (or someone from Nintendo) has said that their "evil" strategy is to release the most desirable retro games at a later date. So all the Zelda games should be available soon enough but I do agree that they need to keep some gems for later release, otherwise they'll run out of good retro releases pretty quick.

That makes sense though. It will help Nintendo during the dry periods of Wii releases and it will also help us because while were all waiting patiently for Brawl it will give us something to do.

Re: Zelda On The Virtual Console

meh I have every zelda game and more than 1 version of every game released before the oracles. I don't need to download them on the VC. I guess it'd be nice for those without them though.

Ah, too true, however, most GameStop/EBGame stores sell the Collector's Edition at $50 (at least the ones I go to). If you download LoZ, AoL, OoT, MM, & ALttP (a game the CE doesn't have) through the Wii, it will only cost you $38. So I guess it depends on how much money you are willing to spend, and what console you have.

GC ($100) + CE ($50) + Gameboy Advance Player ($50) + ALttP on GBA ($20)= $220
Wii ($250) + VCGames ($38) = $288
Wii ($250) + CE ($50) + VCALttP ($8) = $308

Or you could go the retro way and purchase the original systems and respective games for even half the price.

It's kinda hard to get your hands on the old systems, seeing as they aren't made anymore.
Nice Sig BGS.

Re: Zelda On The Virtual Console

I hope they add A Link to the Past is added to the Virtual Console list. If it is, then that along with Super Metroid is just another reason for me to get a Wii.

Re: Zelda On The Virtual Console

ya know how nintendo uploads maybe a dozen maybe more games a month onto the virtual console? i think nintendo should just have one month to put ALL the zelda games onto it. it would be so much easier for us gamers, and them
