New zelda wii games

Does anyone know if Nintendo have begun makng another zelda game for the wii

Probably not. The next Zelda game is supposed to be Phantom Hourglass for the DS. It'll probably be a year, or even more before they make another one for the Wii.

I don't expect to see another console Zelda game until 2009 at the earliest.

Back at E3 05 or whenever they announced the wii, didn't they say that they were working on a Zelda title for the "Revolution" (wii) ? Because we had already known about TP and that was supposed to be for GC back then. I know it wasn't easy for them to port it to Wii, But I'm sure it wasn't as hard as making a completely new game was it? Maybe they are making one right now and its going to be a huge surprise!

I promise, I swear, they have already bugan to work with a new Zelda title.
This time, they are using the Wii's power.

Well, it's not like Reggie or Miyamoto has said officially, but off-hand comments and every other indication would tell us that work has already begun on a fully Wii zelda.
My dream would be that the reason Miyamoto has taken a back seat and been the producer on TP and WW is because he's directing and has already been working on the next game.

If you read all of the "Iwata Asks" interviews, you'll see that Miyamoto actually had a ton of input in TP. I believe he is also putting a lot of his time into Mario Galaxy. TP took 3 years and that was on hardware that Nintendo was very experienced with. The new Wii Zelda is being developed on brand new hardware, with a brand new control scheme. Nintendo will probably build a new game engine as well since the Wii is more powerful than the GC. All of these factors point to a new Wii Zelda no earlier than 2009...thats even pushing it. 2009 is two years from now and TP was three years in the making.

I fully expect Nintendo to at least be in the planning stages of the next Zelda for console. But a release is likely to be, as TP1 says, at least three years away. It all depends on in which direction they want to take it now. Technical question: They can use the same game engine even if they completely rework the sword-control, right? I think this seems to be a likely scenario. They use the same engine, but rethink the controls to make them more precise and realistic.

It's a given. As far as I know, there has been atleast 2 Zelda games per console... or did SNES only have ALttP? I said console, not handhelds, so DS not included... more than likly there will be one

there was only LttP for SNES.

NES: LoZ, AoL
SNES: LttP
N64: OoT, MM
GC: TWW, FSA, TP
Wii: TP

I would think that the next Zelda counsil game would appear on the Wii about Spring 2009, unless they want to hold it back for a holiday release.. then it'd be November 2009.

Yeah, that's probably true. They usually start working on a new Zelda game toward the end of development of the current Zelda game (in this case TP).

Aonuma & co are most likely tossing some interesting areas around for the next big Zelda title

Exactly. Imagine a Zelda game that runs of the Wii's full power. I bet the sword fight will be great in the next installment

yes exactly. But when they do start work on the next game ( presuming they aren't already working on it ) then i think they will find the amount of potential the wii has and how good the nunchuck remote goes with Zelda I think they will decide to make more than just two games.

Nintendo spent a long amount of time creating TP and PH, so I'm not sure when they make a new one, they might not make a new one at all, but I fully agree with Ezzlo, the fact Nintendo will make a Zelda game with all of Wii's power!

I can only imagine what a Zelda game would look like with Wii's power....

I actually hope they do something like Majora's Mask. Majora's Mask was my favorite Zelda game, next to Twilight Princess, and that thing was pumped out in a year. I really hope they do the same thing because if it results in anything like Majora's Mask it will make me, and a lot of other people, very happy.

They probably don't even care about fan story lines at all.

They could quite possibly be working on a new Zelda game already...but I doubt it.
They will most likely be busy with Phantom Hour Glass, and all the other Nintendo games coming out soon.

Then there will most likely be a Christmas break, and might start ideas for a new game in the new year.
I'd say Aonuma and his team deserve a well earned break.

I expect preliminary work on the first Wii-centered Zelda began a few months ago, if not a year with Wii R&D and what have you. actual production will have already begun also, as soon as TP went gold i would imagine.

As far as a release date goes, i expect 2009.

What i think they will do, or believe they should do at least, is put more emphasis on originality, innovation and controller integration over mass content like they have with TP. This next game should control totally differently, but at the same time be incredibly simple, intuitive and immersive to control. Don't ask me exactly what they could do, because i'm no developer, but as a gamer that loves the potential of the Wii, I am craving for something revolutionary.

^Definitely true.

Most people here seem to think games are magically made overnight, or are only started a few weeks before being announced. I only expect to get Wii Zelda details next E3 or the one after.
