First-person zelda for the Wii

Sorry if this has allready been discussed, but what would you guy's think if Nintendo started making a first-person zelda game with close to 1 : 1 sword control. I don't know if it would still have the "zelda" feel but I would certainly give it a try. Now don't come on here and say it would be a fantasy version of Redsteel because it wouldn't.

Re: First-person zelda for the Wii

I seriously doubt it. Zelda has traditionally been as it is, and to change that would make it odd. I guess it's possible, but not probable.

Re: First-person zelda for the Wii

of course, I would never expect it. I wouldn't even want it very much, I mostly wanted to see some ideas that could be used using 1st person. I just thought it would be able to bring some new gameplay mechanics to the table. (more in depth sword play) I guess if you want 1 : 1 swordplay then go play redsteel.

Re: First-person zelda for the Wii

Red Steel doesn't have 1:1 swordplay. It's the same as Link's in TP basically, except in first person perspective.

Well it could be cool to see, maybe like a little Mini-game like this. The Wii supposedly sends things to Nintendo and Vice Versa, so maybe they could make a 1st person game like this and see how we like it... Maybe.

???

If it was an option, then sure, I'd go for it, but you should be able to switch between the two, 3rd and first person.

No I don't think it should be 1st person. Link was meant to fight in 3rd person, it shows the wonderful sceneries and backgrounds.

Re: First-person zelda for the Wii

At first glance it would seem an idiot idea, but if you think about it for a while it sure can be fun. Although I'd rather prefer the current 3rd person mode of a 1st person mode. But if that's the way Nintendo ever would go up to I'd be sure to follow them.

Greetz,

CaLu.

I agree. It wouldn't be all that hard to have a first person and third person option since there are games out there with that option right now (morrowind, oblivion, etc).

The so called Zelda traditionalists really wouldn't be able to complain as long as third person was still an option and was implemented just as well as it has been since Zelda went 3D.

Re: First-person zelda for the Wii

It would rock as long as it was an option, like in Oblivion.

No i disagree i think it would totally ruin the whole zelda series zelda is unique for its style and storyline and i think having it first person would change that

But wouldn't that just be boring , because in oot and mm you get to see all the surondings and fetures of link but having it first person would just ruin that!

Re: First-person zelda for the Wii

I wouldn't like it. It just wouldn't feel like Zelda to me, it would feel too much like a ripoff of Oblivion. Also, the kind of items you could use in a first-person Zelda would be limited.

Re: First-person zelda for the Wii

i think it would be fine only if first person was for combat purposes only, of course if that was the case then we could not fight certain enemies, and most of the foes we deal with will also have swords.

Re: First-person zelda for the Wii

definitley not. zelda is traditionaly a third person adventure. and third person sword fighting would be cool but not on zelda.
