Zelda as the main hero? How about it?

I think it would be a great idea.

I know some people would not be into that idea because she is so much of a royal character and you can't really see her running around and stuff.

But seeing her with her hair down and her softer side would make for a totally different take on the series.

I think especially on a emotional level. When we saw her in Ocarina as a young girl, we only saw a glimpse of her in the castle life.

I think it could work if something tragic could befall her and she would have to fend for herself. She might know link but be separated from him in the game for quite awhile.

Maybe it is the story of not that she is the princess because of royal blood but BECAUSE SHE SAVED THE KINGDOM AND FILLED THE VACANCY and became LEGEND HUNDREDS OF YEARS LATER.

It'd fail horribly for several reasons.

1) A fact of the gaming world is that most of the player base are male, and they won't want to play a female.
2) Raises all kinds of story issues. Why is the PRINCESS doing Link's work, for example?
3) Reminds everone of the Wand of Gamelon, one of the biggest flops in Zelda history.
4) Zelda with a sword and shield? No, she'd be a pansy caster or something. That just isn't Zelda.

That would become what Super Princess Peach was to the Mario-series.
So, nah.. because I know it wouldn't get the level of a Zelda games featuring Link by far.
But if it was.....no, then still not.

I would like here to feature in a normal set up Zelda game though. Playing just a minor role, like Peach did in Paper Mario. But a whole game..nah.

Well I guess then maybe just a story how Zelda BEcame Legend! I just want a different take with Zelda more invloved I guess. Link can still be the main Guy.

I just think the stories should try one time a little more ZElda stuff thats all.

oh well.

And there should be at least one game where link and zelda are the same ones from the previous game. A true sequel.

Don't know about the last thing, but I couldn't agree more with the first thing.
OoT gave Zelda way too few attention, friggin' Talon had a bigger role, despite of the fact that the series is named after Zelda. MM didn't had her at all, In tMC she was some strange child and frozen for almost the whole game. And actually it wasn't better with the other games in my opinion. Now I have a strange feelin' that TP will change all this, so maybe there's nothing to argue about anymore really.

I agree I havent played twilight yet but it seems your right, this game and even wind waker she was given a pivital role.

actualy Zelda was in MM... Link has a flashback to a time where Link is next to Epona and Zelda is giving link the Ocarina of Time. She just played a very very very small role.

are you kidding? Zelda played a huge role in OoT... Well sort of.

With out her you couldnt get past the guard at Death Mountain. You wouldn't have gotten the Ocarina of time, you also learned all those songs from Zelda. You also got the Light Arrows and she helped you get out of Ganon's Tower when it was collapsing.

Their was a Zelda game where Zelda was the main character, the game didn't do very well but your wish is granted! IN the I-CD game Wand of gamlon (I blieve) Zelda was the character that you plaid!

I do belive that you will play Zelda in the TP mainly because of her caring a sword, I will probably be a joint relationship thing like when you control the bird girl and the tree guy in WW as the wind and earth temple.

I wouldn't mind having the game from Zelda's perspective, maybe a second quest where you play as Zelda, more involved story, what happened during her capture so on and so forth, it could be the second half of the story.

Wow, this has to be the strongest reaction to the I-CD's I have seen yet! but it is true that is the one time that you play Zelda!

That would be a typo for Philips CD-i (which you should try to forget if you know about it)

Well, it doesn't have to be like Zelda must save Link or anything! It could be like she goes off on an adventure on her own in another land and somewhere in the game, Link comes and he fights alongside Zelda against whatever new foe is there.

Of course, that would make us ask: "Who's gonna rule Hyrule while Zelda is away?" Well, i'm sure Zelda might have some of those people to act in her place.

I think it would be a better Idea to do the basic Zelda with Link and blah blah, then after you finish the game you could play it as Zelda, kinda like in TWW when you get to play the game with Link's PJs through out the whole thing.

Yes a second quest type thing, would be perfect.

Hmm.Well,it would be cool but give a propuse on WHY Zelda should be hero?
