Voice Acting
Both Gamespot and IGN say Zelda needs voice acting. I sort of agree. But who would do the voices anyway?

Re: Voice Acting
Zelda doesn't need voice acting, it's still a perfectly excellent series without it. The argument here is that if it's next-gen, it should at least have some advancements in its interface. Basically, the substitute of voices over text, to give a game a more "cinematic" feel.
What these sites miss entirely is that the Wii is not next-gen, Nintendo have stated that it is new-gen. Voice acting wouldn't hurt to be honest, but it won't be in for a while. ![]() ~ Adhamh.

Re: Voice Acting
maybe in future zelda games it could be a good idea, as long as its used sparingly. too much voice acting takes away your own ideas of what a characters like, it makes it more like a movie and leaves less to your imagination (and i thought thats what a big part of zelda was all about).
as for people criticising TP for not having voice acting. TP is not a next gen game, its a game developed for gamecube and released on Wii with a new control scheme, its unfair for reviewers to treat it as next gen. |

Re: Voice Acting
I'm not fussed, it could be good or bad, depending on how it was done.
This thread has been made dozens of times before, once a month at least. I know it has been made at least once before because I've done it myself. This is an interesting topic though, so guess it would come back again and again anyway. |

Re: Voice Acting
I kind of agree that it could either suck or not make much difference, but be nice. Since this is "the last Zelda game of it's kind," though, maybe this would be a good time to add it in the next game as the rework the style. Again, it would have to be appropriate, but since it will potentially be a new concept, they could work it in.

Re: Voice Acting
Only and but only, if everything is voice-acted. Not just the cut-scenes and not the NPC's. That would break some unexplainable balance. If they would be voice-acted both, and good, I would say loudly yes. **** the imagining-crap, it would do the series good. Honestly.
But it definitly not stands on the top of my list. It would be great, but the series is good without it too. Also, I don't think it will ever happen as most of the fans hate it and Nintendo listens to their fans with little issues like that.

Re: Voice Acting
That would immediately turn it into Spyro.

Re: Voice Acting
Voice acting would be terrible!
it would break a big zelda tradition and remove the players option to interpret characters, part of the reason zelda is engaging is because it is so interactive, like instead of just sitting and watching, youre reading and interpreting, and it draws you (well...me at least) in like a good book. and theres the dubbing problem. its really annoyingg when the words dont match the mouth and most video game voice acting is terrible. the other day i watched my friend playing FF12 and sorry to say, i hated the voice acting. it annoyed me so much i almost completely lost interest in it...thats just not the fate i want for future zeldas
