Wii's Fairy Cursor

Just wondering, is there any news about whether you can 'turn off' the Wii fairy cursor.... I don't really think I would need it....

Re: Wii's Fairy Cursor

Nope. But you can put it at the bottom of the screen and just ignore it. By pointing down at the ground while you play.

???

Re: Wii's Fairy Cursor

I read somewhere that you could in fact turn it off at the menu screen. You just couldn't see where you were pointing when you pressed pause and went to the menu...er..something. But yeah, I thought it was confirmed that you COULD turn it off. o_0...*shrugs*

Re: Wii's Fairy Cursor

Good thing you can turn it off, that thing would get annoying after so long.

And if you cant, why not?

Re: Wii's Fairy Cursor

Well A you couldn't see what you were pointing at when you were getting an item.

Thats actually the only reason but it's good enough.

Re: Wii's Fairy Cursor

Is it really that annoying? I think it's kinda cute, and could be usefull for those Dull moments where you're trying to figure something out. Or maybe you're talking to someone and showing them something far off. They're too stupid to see it themselvs, so you Put the fairy buy it and it's easy to see.

Re: Wii's Fairy Cursor

Does it really have to be a Fairy though?

And according to sites that I've read where they got access to playing the game, the option to turn off the pointer is there, but what it does is replace remote aiming with analog stick aiming. Sure, it gets rid of the fairy cursor, but it also makes you aim with the control stick instead of the Wii remote. That's what I've been told, anyway.

When the WiiConnect24 support was revealed, it gave me hope that maybe Nintendo would release downloadable cursors to replace the fairy. They really should, I think the fairy will get a little annoying after a while. And as stated earlier, it'll bring back those repressed memories of Navi's constant bickering.

Re: Wii's Fairy Cursor

If you think of it as a cursor more than anything else, I think it'd be okay. I was a bit worried though, a 2D object in a 3D world just wouldn't work. In other words I'm glad it's not supposed to be an actual fairy you find in the story. That doesn't make too much sense, but it'd be really hard to take the game seriously at that point. I mean come on, it looks ridiculous.

Since I want to use the wii-mote, I'll probably have it on. I dunno if Nintendo will allow downloadable cursors.. but I'm not sure. Either way I'm going to try to just ignore it.

Re: Wii's Fairy Cursor

Dang. I was hoping to get rid of the fairy (it doesn't really blend in well with the background) but use the Wiimote to aim and stuff..... oh well.
