Smile Difficulty Option

I think it would be a great idea if Twilight Princess had a difficulty option to choose from. Easy, Median, Hard. or make it more zelda like. like hard could be Legend. I think it would be more fun to start out median then try for hard (Legend) and also have a special feature for beating each difficulty level.

What do you guys think?

Re: Difficulty Option

no, a difficulty level system just wouldnt be zelda. but a more difficult second quest with harder enemies and/or puzzles would be a great feature

Re: Difficulty Option

I would like an unlockable bonus option for choosing your difficulty, now, I don't think an easy medium hard desicion should be in TP, I'de much rather have "Normal" and "Extreme" Extreme being so difficult that it not only doubles the games length from the need to collect hearts, but also make us so frustrated that we start playing tWW again just to inflate our self esteem.

Re: Difficulty Option

Whether the next Zelda game has a difficulty option doesn't concern me. I don't think it'd be a bad idea though, considering how easy some Zelda games have gotten lately. If Nintendo makes the Zelda games any easier then MC; then I'd have to demand a difficulty system.

Re: Difficulty Option

Difficulty levels might be cool. It worked in Metroid: Zero Mission, and like Metroid there could be multiple endings, or at least more details in the better endings. I'd like that.

Re: Difficulty Option

I think Zelda games are in need of a difficulty option. I would like it if beating the game on 'normal' would unlock 'hard' mode, and beating it on 'hard' unlocks 'hardest' mode. They could give them nicer names like 'Hero' and 'Warrior' or something. These modes would change only the ratio of damage done and damage taken.

If the big N did this, they could satisfy the average/unskilled gamer and also the hardcore fans who really want to feel challenged.

Re: Difficulty Option

Maybe it works well.

As we´ve not seen any kind of difficulty change in any Zelda game (yeah, expect for the first one), it´s something that doesn´t seem to fit, naturally.

Personally I would like something like that, maybe in MP´s way or another. Maybe the same goes for the voice acting for future zelda games, but I´m not sure about that one.

Re: Difficulty Option

So it might...but I don't think we'll be thinking much about a difficulty level system (hopefully). And, though, it would be nice...it's somehow not Zelda-like. Maybe I just like to linger with tradition...but after Wind Waker that might not be such a good idea.

I made that suggestion a while ago, so I like it . I don't care what they call it though, I'd just like to see a second quest that was harder. More enemy damage received and less damage dealt to enemies or something like that would be a cool unlockable option.

I agree with you, thats a great idea. i would love that. it makes the game longer more interesing. and like you play on hard you unlock a harder mode and get a special movie or something and the same after that. Like have it like God Of War

I actually don't really care but Legend difficulty instead of just Hard difficulty would be neat.

Re: Difficulty Option

Well, I guess it could work.. It just sort of depends I suppose. How they use it, name it, what the differences are, etc. I prefer to play games the way they were made though.

???

Re: Difficulty Option

i don't necessarily think a difficulty setting is necessary prior to beginning the game unless you just suck and need it toned down. it's allegedly pretty hard anyway, isn't it? but a hard mode sure would be a good bonus for beating the game, and if nintendo's going to follow up on what they did with wind waker we're sure to see some sort of bonus.

Took the words out of my mouth. Thief.

Re: Difficulty Option

I'd have it on the hardest possible difficulty level to get the most out of my experience with the best game of all time.

Re: Difficulty Option

^Umm...well AOL is generally considered REALLY hard. I think most of the 2D Zeldas are pretty hard, it's just that tWW (and to some extent MM and OoT) were really easy. So yes, put in a difficulty option, but let's not make it "toggle."

Re: Difficulty Option

I don't know about having a "sliding bar" difficulty, but having an insanely hard second quest like in the first Zelda would be awesome.
