Is there a day/night system like in Ocarina of Time?

No, but there is a world of light (normal) and a world of dark (twilight). Developers probably ditched real time lighting in favor of the theme.

Can you compare the size of Hyrule to any other game? Bigger than GTA? Smaller than Oblivion? Biggest thing ever?

The scale is nowhere near Oblivion, from the map I saw (which they claimed was the only map...). And while TP has some wide open spaces, it never reminded me of those GTA or Oblivion.

Vacumgod will be very dissapointed to hear that the map shown in that one screenshot is the only one...

This may not seem like a big deal to some of you, but I'm so upset with this. Mostly with the lack of a day/night system like OoT (or WW). This really pisses me off! I used to just wait for the sun to go down so I could enjoy night, but I can't in TP. I have to enter the Twilight Realm. It was so much fun to explore at night too! On top of that, it added realism to the world, which I really liked.

I wanted to explore the forests and towns at night... This can't be right! There were so many screenshots that took place at night, but I guess Nintendo ditched that. That's just ****ing retarded.

As for the overworld size, I never expected it to be the size of Oblivion's, but it is smaller than San Andreas? That's dissapointing! Yes, SA's overworld is huge, but don't you expect Zelda to be bigger? Considering I was hoping for one of the biggest overworlds ever, I'm naturally dissapointed beyond belief.

Dang.... I really was hoping for a day and night system. Like running across Hyrule Field as Wolf Link or something. I loved it in The Wind Waker... Thats a disapointment.

I was hoping Twilight Princess' overworld would be pretty big. I didn't think it'd be smaller than San Andreas, maybe the same size or a bit bigger.

But what really sucked was at the bottom of the article. No zombies or Moterbikes! GRRR!!! :mad:

I think the normal world will still feature day and night...why wouldn't it? I don't think they're replacing the night times with the Twilight Realm.

I did read your whole post, but it doesn't seem quite right to never show us Hyrule in its night. I certainly hope that you are wrong.

I really don't care. Maybe the day/night system doesn't go well with the game itself, and I'm really happy there's going to be more space than in OoT to explore, I really wasn't expecting an overworld the size of a country! I'm fine with it.

I hope I'm wrong too. It just doesn't make sense not to have a day/night system, esspecially in a 3D Zelda.

In one of the new screen-shots, it appears as though it's dusk. If it didn't have a day/night feature, then how could it be dusk? More importantly, what would the lantern be for? I think this guy is sadly mistaken.

As for the size of the overworld, I was never expecting the map to ever be as big as GTA (and especially Oblivion; that thing is huge). As long as it's bigger then WW's map (maybe a minimum of 1.5x or more), I'm happy.

I barely read the first 4-5 questions, the guy or guys who wrote this seemed too silly (or "cool") for my liking. I couldn't take that article or FAQ seriously, even if it turns out to be true.

Also, is that site really a reliable source? I figure other sites (like IGN for instance) would've reported this if the night/day was gone.

I don't want to be the bad guy here.. but come on, don't have too high expectations on the game - you'll probably end up being disappointed.

Dark Link is right, there are screenshots everywhere that show environments during the day, dusk and night. I say this is BS.

I'd have to see it to believe it. Like you said we've seen screens of Hyrule at night and there was even mention of it being so dark in places that it's impossible to see without the lantern.

The night/day system adds so much to the feel of a Zelda game it would be idiotic to scrap it plus how 'realistic' is it not to have a day and night? And why have none of the other articles mentioned this, this would be huge news if it were true. Which I'm almost positve it isn't.

it isn't true, they can't release 15 new screens, showing off night and day, and then claim that, that sort of system doesn't exsist.

I can understand the over world not being all that huge, I would never expect it to be as large as obvlivion, but something around the size of SoTC's overworld seems fine, and from the looks of it (5+ OoT area's that just make up Hyrule field, not any of the provinces or deserts) seems..... OK.

No day and night? Thats crap. If you all remember, a good while ago there was someone that had a review of sorts and said " Hyrule feild is certainly something you can't cross in a single day, atleast without a horse," Or something like that.

Overworld huge? Thats a little disapointing, but hey. I would be satisfied with just OoTs.

Do keep in mind that the interviewed person (or the whole interview itself, actually) seemed bent on pointing out the game's flaws, so don't let it get to you.

The screen that vgod posted is big enough proof by it's self that this information is incorrect. That screen only came out a week ago, I doubt they decided to scrap it this week.
