Do you think TP will be the greatest game ever made until now?

Simply as that. Yes, or No, or Maybe. You can read this postbefore voting if you like, but maybe it doesn´t change your opinion at all. We´re way too close from the launch date, so I thought making this non-trivial theme thread was a good idea.

Now, in my opinion, it WILL be the greatest game ever made. Why?

I´ve never seen any other game that has been so highly priced, anticipated by the fans and media and with such amount of speculations.

But mainly, because of it´s development. Nintendo made the biggest team ever to work on a game, for relatively the longest time (after OoT), and as passionately as ever. All this, with one thing on mind:

Making the best Zelda game ever. Wich, in my opinion, would also mean the best game ever.

My doubts on TP not delivering have vanished...

For some time, I thought that TP had some significant flaws, and those being it´s music (the tunes specially), and Link´s animation (to wich you are going to look at almost always...).

But now, after watching the new videos and the old ones again some few times, I realized that the developers knew what was better for TP, what was inapropiate and what was not.

Why? Because, viewing it as a whole, the music, the animations, the landscapes, the movement of the things, and the pace with wich the game is played, everything seemed to fit perfectly.

The songs and tunes are still even echoing in my mind (yes, even the fish catch tune), and when I noticed it, I knew that TP would do the same for a long, long time.

No, of course not. More games will come along and they will continue to get better and better. I think TP will be really great though.

I do. It looks amazing in all ways. It's gonna sell like anything.

No, TP is the best adventure game ever made (it's quite a vague and overall-inclusive genre)

But understand that TP is not a better FPS than halo, nor is it a better RPG than say Kotor, TP is the best of it's genre, simple as that.

It might be the greatest Zelda game ever made. Weighing it against other games, though, I'd have to say no on account of the fact that not much is being done in TP that hasn't been done ages ago by other franchises.

Well it is impossible to compare a game like zelda to a game like smash brothers, so calling it the greatest game ever is a matter of purely personal taste.

I will tell you know, my favourite game of all time (and I have played thousands) is ocarina of time. I am hoping TP surpasses it and becomes my new favourite game of all time.

IF this game manages to be flawless in execution (even more so than OOT), and manages to achieve 100% in the breakdown of all of it's components, we will see another masterpiece that will be called one of the greatest games of all time.

People are taking that question too literally, the greatest game ever made is an opinion.

I read it as 'Do you think TP will be your new favorite game?' From what I've seen this will be the best Zelda adventure of all time even better than OoT making it the greatest game of all time in my opinion.

It will be pretty close to the best game ever made if it isn't the best. After all, who knows what future Zeldas will hold for us? If I had to pick the best game ever in terms of Graphics, gameplay, story, and replay value I would pick The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Its possible that TP will top Oblivion. I hope it does and if it does that would be beyond awesome because Oblivion has the best of everything. Other than how my gut feels, I don't know how TP will be 'cause I haven't played it . It will surely be hailed in future days to come as one of the best games ever made, that much is certain.

If Twilight Princess can top Ocarina of Time in critical acclaim, then it has a chance. According to the majority of reviewer websites, magazines and opinion polls, OoT is right up there.

No game can strictly be the greatest game ever made, but statistically it's possible.

Yes, Zelda is a adventure game. But there are many things that bond any type of genre together, like playability, the experience it gives you, the satisfaction of solving something, the emotions it take out from you, and the list goes on and on.

So, here I´m talking about TP as a game, not as a genre. So again, I think it will succed in this, at least I (really) hope so.

Seeing as Twilight Princess brings with it revolutionary controls (read, the Wii) I do believe that Twilight Princess has the potential to become one of the greatest games ever made. It will compare to Ocarina of Time for sure, even without revolutionary controls (read, the Gamecube version).

I do believe that it may surpass Ocarina of Time, but if so, only with the help of its creative controls. It's Zelda, in a new way. A lot like Ocarina of Time was when it first came out.

I would just like to go off on a tangeant and say; there is a danger with threads like these.

If you over-hype yourself ona game, and begin expecting too much, you can be easily dissapointed with either the game, or a few elements in the game.

I believe it depends on the people who review it. I myself think it will be one of the best. Not the Best, though. You can't have a "The best" anymore.

No. It all depends on opinion. For me this is probably going to be the best game ever. For my friend a diehart LOTR fan he won't think it is.

if it holds my attention anymore than all of the other zelda games have... then i would most definitely have to say of course. duh! i really dont care about FPS or any stuff like that nearly as much as i do RPG/Adventure so of course im biased.

The world is as big, or bigger than TWW. That's one of the requirements for my opinion of the greatest Zelda game. If it's subquests are as geat as MM, then it will meet the second. The third is being able to link to other games like OoA/S, but I don't think it will do that.

A game that is a combination of TWW world, MM sidequests, and a diversity of species and lands would be the best Zelda game ever.

Ever...now that's a lot of time, so what I'll say is it might be one of the best but might not be the best. Though, having not played it, I can't make a judgement, but I'm sure it will be enjoyable...and everything a Zelda game should be.

Or something alike, I´m not sure what gramatically is better for the underlined part.
