I must vent about GC Twilight Princess...

I have not seen a thread like this, so I must say, are there any GC owners who are upset about the earlier release of Twilight Princess for Wii over the GC version? I know that Nintendo wants a lot of hype around the release of the Wii, but it just doesn't seem fair that they make the people who put in their reserves for the GC version nearly 2 years in advance wait longer. I personally don't have the money for the Wii just yet, but have put aside money for Twilight Princess. Indeed, I will probably end up buying both the GC and Wii versions, but just knowing that one version is out and I can't play it is going to KILL ME.

I think the Big N has pretty much dumped the gamecube. You can go ahead and get Cube TP, but I seriously doubt that it will make you feel any better. Wii TP is alot better.

I have to agree with Great Gibdo, Nintendo hasn't been working that much on the gamecube version anymore

Well what I mean is I have a strong feeling that After they're out of the first round of Gamecube TP's, they probably won't make any more.

It's a great marketing strategy by Nintendo. They know people (like me) would buy the $250 Nintendo Wii just so that they can play TP. They make it slightly better so that more people will buy it. It's most likely just to sell the system. Keeping the GC version is smart idea as well; what with all the people who will get the GC version just for nostalgic purposes.

I gotta agree with you... with the long name I cant spell. I wish they'd let them out on the same day. TPGC was (I believe) finished months before the Wii, and I (unlike most) can afford the Wii (but unlike most who can) I won't be getting it cause I couldn't preorder it. Seems totally biased and unfair... Stupid awesome totally sweet amazing revolutionary perfect fair priced console...

I will spaz if they stop making TPGC cuz I can only get it for GC unless I get the Wii for christmas.

GC version will probably be very limited in supply.

Well, one way to look at it is be glad they're still putting it on the GC, because they could have just moved it to the Wii all together. Now that would have urked a lot of people!

Sorry that you're going to have to wait a bit longer tho Lindsay. It's only 3 more weeks though! Maybe you should play one of the older games to help the time go by.

I won't be geting a Wii rightaway. Not only do I lack the funds (if I didn't, I'd have beetter things to spend them on.) I dislike the fact that GC TP is being dumped, but as long as its there, I care not.

Anyway...

A lot of people, I dare say, more people will have to wait until Christmas to get the Wii. It's only a month, I'm sure you'll survive.

With this thread we won't have to break up other threads with the complaints. If something is worth complaining about why not complain? (not like we can do anything)

This thread is just pointless because there have been countless other threads dedicated to the people who are getting the GC version who are mad about having to wait and curse Nintendo for it.

I felt exactly like you did, Sheikahchica, but then I chosed the Wii version. If you could possibly get the money, get the Wii version. I am still getting both versions though

Don't believe the exaggerated comments about the Gamecube version, it's just going to have different controls and graphics that are technically better but visually the same.

It's really not that much of a big deal. I understand how people think, but for those of us that don't feel the Gamecube is completely dead, the Gamecube version is great. Even at that, both sides have their positive and negative attributes, such as price among other things...

Don't think that as soon as TP comes out, all things Gamecube will cease to exist. That would be really stupid for Nintendo to release a game on a seriously dead console. Yes, the Gamecube is at the absolute end of its lifespan, but it still will sell games, and I don't think you have to worry about your local game store stocking... like, 2 copies. Nintendo is well aware that they made a promise of sorts to release it on the GC, and I don't think they're THAT evil of a company to make it impossible to get. They DO want to make money off of the GC before it bites the dust.

Is the system really dead? In a way, yes, since this will porbably be one of the last worthwhile games on it, but also no. Not every gamer on planet Earth has an automatic switch in their brain that compels them to purchase a next-gen console upon release date. People are still going to be playing GC games, especially things like Zelda, Mario, SSB, and Animal Crossing. Or maybe that's just me, since I don't see putting those games down until my Gamecube dies of old age.

Sorry if I got a bit off-topic in that last bit.

The only difference is in the controls (the mirroring won't even affect the gameplay or look of the game) so it's no big deal.

I'm going to get the wii version because the wii controls will be superior and add to the fun.

You can't blame nintendo. It's a shrewd business move. Nintendo will sell more wiis because TP is out on the wii when it isn't out on the GC. They just wanna get their new console out on the best legs possible. They also wanna give the wii an edge on the 360 and PS3 by having a console selling game right at launch. The 360 finally has one in gears of war; almost a year after the launch of the system. And PS3 just doesn't have one.

Look on the bright side, at least they didn't cancell the gamecube version altogether.

EDIT: Nintendo would much rather have you spen $300+ on the wii and TP than just $50 on just the GC version. No matter how "mean" that may be.

at least for the people who get the gc version first the mirrorring effect and the new wii control system will make the game feel like a new experience if they decide to get it for wii. so at least nintendo have put some effort in
