Zelda: Twilight Princess- best launch title ever?

Over the years, there have been plenty of great games that have come out on the same day as their specific system. Halo (Xbox), Super Mario 64 (N64), Super Mario Bros. (NES), Super Mario World (SNES), Sonic the Hedgehog (GEN) (correct me if I am wrong, I'm pretty sure all these games came out on Day One).

This got me thinking...will the newest Zelda game be the best launch title of them all? Now, a lot of previews are saying that this may be the best Zelda game ever...does that automatically make TP the best launch game?

Without a doubt, I can't even think of one that comes half as close.

there is simply no way that the adventure will remembered as anything but a masterful classic and quite possibly the best launch title in the history of the business.

It will defiantly be in my opinion, but that's the Nintendo/Zelda fanboy inside of me. I know that there will be plenty of Mario, Sonic, and especially Halo fans who would disagree with us.

The only problem TP has, like many others have said, is that it may be too big and too long, it will take up so much of your time that you will have to wait 1-2 weeks until you have the chance to play other wii titles.

its the best launch title in so many ways
1.its a title which will fill in holes between OOT and TWW
2.its a zelda game at launch (a first i think?)
3.a contender for best zelda game ever by the looks of it
4.in my view it marrys ideas and visuals from both OOT and TWW so it will be popular to people who prefer either game.
5.for nintendo it means a hell of a load of sold wii`s

right now i actually don't give a monkeys arse about the outher Wii games I just want to play the best (launch)game EVER!!!!

Who cares? If that is actually a problem to some people, then thats a joke. I could care less about any of the other launch titles when compared to TP. I have no problem playing TP for a couple of weeks and not even bother with any other game. I have been waiting for almost 3 years for TP.....not Excite Truck, or Far Cry LOL. WHAT A JOKE.

i do think the other wii games are at least good enough as a good time when you want a break from TP for a little while.but to be honest,none of the other launch titles seem to appeal to me that much,but i here you have to play them to 'get' whether you like it or not

...... ok. What about the people who actually have to reveiw such a game, they will have to spend an enourmous amount of time on TP while other titles go unnoticed. In addition, I'm in college, I really don't have time for super massive game despite my love for them, TP will definantly be hard to manage, I find nothing joke oriented about that.

What kind of joke does far cry or excite truck provide? Form what I've seen they appear to be very fun titles that take much more of a wii advantage than TP does.

Are you kidding me? Thats the reviewers JOB and they get PAID for it. It's their job to manage their time and review the games while they get PAID for it. And usually there is more than one person who will review the entire launch line up of a new console. I know Matt at IGN is not reviewing all Wii games because Mark Bozon is going to do half of them and Matt already said that a couple other editors were going to help him with the TP review.

Thats good that your in college, seriously. I too have responsibilites because I have a regular, five day a week job that I go to during the day. I will make time for TP, and take my time with it. You don't have to rush through the game you know. And yes, Far Cry is a joke compared to TP. I would never by a game like that for the Wii. It will be a sloppy port and I'd rather by a more graphically intense game for my 360.....same thing with COD 3. I'm getting a Wii for TP and ORIGINAL games built around the Wii remote. Not sloppy ports like Far Cry and Happy Feet and Barnyard LOL.

Now that's just stupid, you haven't played the game and don't know anyone that has. Stop making assumptions unless you can back it up.

Far Cry Vengeance is hardly looking to be a crappy port, the game features far better graphical detail than the X-Box title, it's got three brand new levels, 5+ new weapons, all new, innovative controls thanks the Wiimote, a new storyline, new characters, and probably will have both online play and downloaded content because of WiiConnect24/7.

If my plans go right and I get TPWii at launch, then I'm only going to wait until Christmas to get another game, because hopefully by then I'll have played a lot of TP and looking for something else to try the Wii with. Red Steel's looking like a good choice, but so are FCV and Excite Truck, especially for the multiplay, which should be great with my friends once we have enough controllers.

I was comparing the Wii version of far cry to the 360 version of far cry....not the xbox version. I would hope that the Wii version is better than the xbox version because the xbox is a system with dated technology.

Hey buddy, Predator ain't the most glorious thing in the world, either. Map-editting and some slightly better graphics than a high-quality Xbox game, and that's about it. It's a very light expansion.

I have been reading its previews, and i for what i have seen and heard, the game will be nothing but flawless.
