Solution for the Wii Controller Batteries

Since many people seem to think I am the authority on the Wii and what it can do I have had many people ask me about the controller and the battery life. I have no idea how long the battery life will last but I can tell you that the people who played it for a extended period of time saw no problems. Also, I can give a solution to those of you who think that buying new batteries over and over will be too expensive.

Steps:
  1. Buy four rechargable batteries and a recharger.
  2. Put two of the batteries in the Wii and play with them. Put the other two in the charger and charge them.
  3. When the two in the Wii die, put the two in the charger in the wii and the two that died into the charger.
  4. Rinse and repeat.

Thus, endless batteries until the charge runs out in the batteries (which takes a long time.) So those of you who have endless hours playing Zelda or any other game, do not fret! The solution has been found.

Re: Solution for the Wii Controller Batteries

It's the same thing as having a Wavebird. Rechargeable batteries are a must have.

Once you've become untethered to your console, you'll never want to go back.

Yep, I love my wavebirds. They are the best wireless controllers. Wireless FTW!

Isn't there supposed to be a recharge dock that you can get? I saw a screenshot of it somewhere of four Wii-motes in a tray charging...

That's my plan as well, though I really do hope nintendo comes up with their own think like the 360 has the play&charge kit.

Not that Nintendo has mentioned. Although, it's pretty obvious that it's only a matter of time.

AAs.

I really need to get a battery recharger before the 19th. It will definitely be a good investment.

Re: Solution for the Wii Controller Batteries

Okay, here are those recharge cradles I was talking about earlier-

For one controller

Four controllers

These could just be artist's concepts, rather then real products, I'm not 100% sure...

yeah, I saw those earlier. But the way you can tell they're out-dated is the rectangular power button. That's from the "revolution" codename era.

edit: the "1, 2" buttons are also labeled "a, b"

Re: Solution for the Wii Controller Batteries

It's funny that though this solution makes sense, so many ZUsers will still cringe at this "extra effort", stop complaining and pay the extra 10 or so bucks.

For myself, I don't even plan on buying a recharger, batteries are batteries, if I need new batteries, then I buy them, those packs of 8 will get me through just fine.

Re: Solution for the Wii Controller Batteries

Not worried about batteries, and will buy them. Duracell 4 LIFE!!! Seriously though, if batteries last long on a GBA, and if you remember how long they lasted in those ancient Rumble Packs, then batteries is no problem.

That way works too, but isn't it more logical to just go with rechargable ones, not to mention the cost... I know I need all the money I'm earning to manage my life.

Re: Solution for the Wii Controller Batteries

Yeah, look at it this way.

1 pack of 8. 5-8 dollars.
After a Month, you use them all up. 16 dollars now.

Charger. 10 dollars. 4 Pack. 3-4.
5-6 months later, batteries die. 3-4 dollars.

Don't feel like it. I'll just buy the batteries and be done with it. I never bought a charger, and the Wii-mote is not going to make me.

You make it seem like I insulted you. It's not like buying a charger is breaking some moral code. I'm just trying to help. O_o

Re: Solution for the Wii Controller Batteries

Yeah... I've already thought about getting a rechargeable battery kit... either that or for the time being getting some lithium ion batteries to extend the life of the Wiimote during those longer, Zelda-ie play times.

I'm pretty sure that some third parties down the track (maybe even Nintendo) will come up with a rechargeable solution specifically made for the Wiimote. They did it for the original GBA, so I can't see why it couldn't be done in this instance.
