What happens if the new Zelda has a level system?

I been wondering. What will happen if a new Zelda game comes out, and the game is level base. Like the game is being more RPG. You have go around, kill monsters, and level up to become stronger. Me? I don't know what to think if they ever tell us about it. I think it may be good, but maybe also a little bad since you could get killed by a high level monster easily. What's your thoughts on this?

Eh, I wouldn't like it. I might get used to it, but... I dunno. I'd be pretty pissed off at first, I guess.

I would hang myself which will mark the end of the Zelda series.

I think that a level system would suck. What type of creature you can defeat should be skill based mostly.

Re: What happens if the new Zelda has a level system?

Zelda is all about strategy, overcoming obstacles (mainly puzzles) a leveling system really goes against the basic principles of Zelda.

Re: What happens if the new Zelda has a level system?

It won't. Not like a typical RPG anyway.

Zelda games has their own version of levelling up. Gaining more heart containers and pieces will make you stronger by being able to take more damage. New items and upgrades of items will let you do things and go places that you previously couldn't. It's a unique way to level up without sticking within the over-flooding RPG genre.

Re: What happens if the new Zelda has a level system?

By many gamers, Zelda II was consider as the worst zelda, a black sheep as some websites called it, a fluke, a failure, and a game that should not had existed.

Oh wait, the worst zelda games were on the cheap system made by some company. I guess all that I said above should go towards those zelda games.

Didn't the CD-i cost over a thousand dollars? Plus, those games aren't even acknowledged as Zelda games by most fans, so they don't even factor into the equation.

Re: What happens if the new Zelda has a level system?

Well, its VERY Unlikey, and i level system might be good for the weapons, but not the character. Like a lv.5 bow our something, so it does more damage to monsters. But, you shouldn't be able to level them up all at once, but when a certain event happens, you can level it up about 3 levels, and even more after another event.

Re: What happens if the new Zelda has a level system?

I think that the type of level up that are used now is much better as said earlyier
Get more heart containers stronger weapons and so on through out the game ..
Much better and much more fun that way

Arrgh!!
NO!
The Zelda games wouldn't be the same with a level-up system.
I think it would be a bad move for Nintendo if Zelda became more RPG.

Re: What happens if the new Zelda has a level system?

It basically already is a level system, it's just based on exploring rather than fighting. Link obviously gets stronger throughout the game, and it's easily possible to be killed by a stronger monster. You collect heart pieces, you get upgrades to your sword and armor, you get new items, all these things essentially "level up" Link.

If they did do a combat-based leveling up system, the game would lose all challenge, as well as restricting you, unless all the enemies on the field were just really weak.

Heh, forgot about that. If you do get too strong, fighting bosses or weaker moster will be too easy. So I do agree with you.

Re: What happens if the new Zelda has a level system?

more hearts, new swords, a longer magic gauge, new magic spells, new tunics, yes Zelda is very good how is it, and whit leveling up instead of three-heart challenge you have to do no-EXP challenge.

Zelda+leveling up=NO (it worked fine whit AoL but that Zelda was a lot different

Re: What happens if the new Zelda has a level system?

i like zeldas own form of levelling up, its just a lot more interesting, finding new items by exploration, than being told you`ve levelled up from one number to another, like in most rpgs. if zelda ever incorporated a standard levelling up system it would be a huge step back for the series, so i doubt it will ever happen.
