Re: The Guide Book!

What do you mean? Stratigy guide or the instuction manual? If you mean a stratigy guide, then yes I will buy one simply for sidequest purposes, or at least offical art.

Re: The Guide Book!

I'll buy a guide book but I probably will only use it for sidequests. I mean, besides a dedicated few, how many people found all the gold skulltulas in Ocarina of Time without the help of a guidebook? I sure didn't, other than that though, most temples are relatively easy to figure out so no need to use one.

Re: The Guide Book!

I might use an internet source every once in a while, but I complete as much as I can by myself. After all, I don't have oodles of time to spend on figuring out how to open a door. I'd say actually finishing the game and the feeling I get from that far out weighs any "guilt" I might feel by using a walkthrough on how to complete a certain side-quest.

Re: The Guide Book!

I'm getting the guidebook . Because I tend to get lost in palace-type dungeons <_<. Especially if it's my first run. And for the online guides. I don't think so. I'd rather look at the official guide while I'm playing the game. Instead of having to go back and forth to see the online guides while playing the game.

Re: The Guide Book!

when does the guide book come out? usually they come out before the games release maybe its a good idea to not come online starting the day or day before the guides go on sale.

No. I bought the official one for OoT after I had beaten the game but the info there is really basic and works like the manual. The internet is far more superior if you want detailed walkthroughs.

I think it's worth getting the guides for the artwork though

Nope. Not gonna use it. It doesn't feel like it's you playing the game if you use the guide.

Re: The Guide Book!

Will I use a strategy guide for Twilight Princess? Probably not. I have been known to use strategy guides for other games though. I've never used one for any Zelda game up to this day... although if I'm stuck really bad, I go to online walkthroughs for a bit of help, and that's it.

Re: The Guide Book!

NO. No. And no. I collected the 100 skulltulas, and all the Heart Pieces (except one) and everything else in OoT, without a guide. And it was just tooo great and satisfactory. So, yes. I´m going to finish TP with many things, and after I finish it, I´going to search for every tiny sidequest and collectible in the world, without any guide.

I think this is the most absolute way to play a game, the biggest experience.

Re: The Guide Book!

I'd probably use the guide book eventually, it's really annoying when I'm completely stuck in a game I want to enjoy, I think it's unnecessary to glance at the book every time you hit a puzzle, guidebooks are a last resort kind of thing where you're just sick of not making any progress and would like to move onto another area so that you can explore on your own without using a guide.

and besides, I love to collect zelda guide books for the official art and the character info.

Re: The Guide Book!

I reserved one, but I don't plan to use it until I've beaten the game once. I usually use the guidebooks for drawing references ^^;;;
