Twilight Villages
So in a couple of screenshots (or maybe just one, I haven't looked at them in a while) there's a village behind Wolf Link and if people can't exsist in the Twlight Realm who's living in these villages? No one and it's just there because it exsisted when the Twilight didn't. Or the monsters have taken up resisdence.

Re: Twilight Villages
I think several screenshots show the same village. It's certainly interesting. It could be an indication of the Twilight realm mirroring Hyrule, so there are buildings there because there are buildings there in Hyrule, or it could be that the monsters are, for the first time, actually building places to live. It's hard to really say what it is with the little evidence we have, but I lean towards the first theory.

Re: Twilight Villages
i hope there are at least 10 towns that just have humans in them and separate towns for the different races but have every town verrryyy farrrr apart that you would need your horse for sure to get to.

Re: Twilight Villages
You realize that that is more human towns then have appeared in every zelda game combined (not counting AoL), right? I also hope that they aren't all that far apart, or if they are that you can warp to them. Everyone complained that the ocean in tWW was too large, and you want to make the overworld larger yet?

Re: Twilight Villages
Yes it would make it feel much more real like your journeying from town to town. And there could be people walking from each town too in hyrule field and could be roadside merchants or traveling salesmen like the happymaskman while you travel. I thought it was just a different idea. O yeah, they took the hand out of his head?i wonder why

Re: Twilight Villages
Why is the ability to walk so important? I mean, the boat was faster.

Re: Twilight Villages
i was entertained at sea for the first hour, but if you get knocked off by a shark as soon as you got back on (if they haven't attacked you in the water) the sharks will knock you off instantly, god it was so annoying, i would get a game over and then go and bang my forehead on the sidewalk

Re: Twilight Villages
I liked the Great Sea, but because of the great size, and nearly empty squares (like half of them or more), it got a little boring. Mainly, because the only thing you could do while sailing was to rotate the camera. You couldn´t even take out your telescope (or any other item) without stopping in an instant, wich I find a bad loss of potential. You just leaved the boat in the direction, take out the sail... and... BOOM! Boredom-Explosion. At leats there were gyorgs... no, when you´re moving, they NEVER hit you. I got dissapointed with all this. You had tiny control and freedom while sailing.
With the horse, you will be constantly moving the stick, and have tota freedom in your movements. You´ll can explore an interesting landscape, a sea can´t have many secrets as a diverse land, with lakes, forests, fields, hidden grottos (I hope), caves, etc. You acn even explore all this be foot, for the sake of wasting good time with your loved TP. You´ll be EVEN given the option of exploring the waterways, waiting for the next secret or not so secret that you´ll uncover. I feel that the exploration and traveling in TP will be one of the biggest parts in the TP experience, wich I... BOOM! H-hype-Explotion.

Re: Twilight Villages
Mmmph. I thought the great sea was boring. Nothing to do, just blue blue. All the islands were teeny, and boring. There were hardly any towns, and most were just Robinson Crusoe Islands, in that there was a palm tree or two, and that would be about it.
I think Skies of Arcadia was a much better sailing game. It was 3D, and they didn't stretch the constant "sea" think until it broke. The islands were varied and beautiful. I loved sailing through the world of Arcadia. When I played it, I thought, this is what TWW should have been! Besides Epona >>>>>Some snobby know it all boat.

Re: Twilight Villages
That´s wait I said. If you would readed all my post, I said that the great sea was boring. I had little to no freedom of control, and was nearly empty in some big parts.

Re: Twilight Villages
Yeah. I wouldn't have minded the sea so much, but most of the islands seemed to have been half-assed at best, offering reasonably difficult challenges with nothing but a silver rupee as a reward, or worse yet, nothing (notable) to do at all!
I remember on one island (needle spire I beleive, I could be wrong though), there was a cave where you had to find all six torches (or however many) that were hidden on several ships scattered around the cave, and shoot then with a fire arrow, the sign in the cave gave an abnormally cryptic decription of the puzzle, especially for a Zelda game, (mentioned in one of my 1st posts here), but after spending a long time scaning the entire cave for all of them, finding and lighting them all, I got..... a rupee of some mediumish value. Considering all the time it takes to get from one island to another, not to mention tracking down the fish to get the maps, got pretty tedious before too long, especially since most of the islands not only weren't neccecary to finish the game, but didn't even have enough to do to equal the time it took to sail there. I don't have a problem with side-quests. Because I'm sure many will agree with me that they can easily be just as fun as the main plot. My issue with them was that unless you took the time to go and do them, you were left with big, ugly blank spots on your map, which you couldn't even warp to with tornados. One thing I'm loking forward to with TP is that hopefully, the map will be more along the lines of OoT, that bieng that once you've been to a general area, it'll appear on your map, without you having to neccecarily track down the area of the local sub-quest. That way, you can track down as many or as few as you'd like to, without it leaving a hideous blotch in your menu in the meantime. Kinda like the camera quest in WW, or the Skulltula quest from OoT. They weren't needed to finish the game, and you could easily enough finish the entire game without giving them a second thought. But for those who wanted the extra activities in the game, be it for enertainment value, or just perfectionism and bragging rights, the quests were there, and ready to add hours of challenge to the game. Since TP has been boasted by Mayamoto (sp?) as being the best Zelda game to date (or something along those lines), I'm certainly hoping that known issues with past games have been addressed, so that that comment really will be true |
