It's a fan game, but I wouldn't get your hopes up for it.
It's been at something like 90% completion for something like three years now.

Oddly, the game creator, TheRealMethuselah, who used to visit the site, also said he was planning a Majora's Mask 2D - but, not surprisingly, he's dissapeared from the forums, and his games haven't been completed.
I doubt they ever will be.

it takes time, theirs only like 1 or 2 people working on a complete game. making it look really good. games are a long process

Re: Zelda OoT 2D

Hmm It looks like this isn't being made by TRM which means we might actualy see a completed version of this. I'm not sure if TRM is still making his OoT 2d though. Last time I checked people were still waiting for demo 4, but its been a while since I've last tried to find out whats going on with it.

Fair enough, but when something has been "Almost done" and "90% complete" for four years, you kinda lose hope.
Heck, IIRC the first time anyone heard of it was when it was "Almost complete".

When you then consider that people have made good and complete Zelda games in less then a year using programs such as Zelda Classic and Open Zelda, you begin to see why most people have started doubting it.

Re: Zelda OoT 2D

Is this the same demo that TRM was making, just under new "ownership"? Or is this a completely different OoT2D?

I was sure that this project had been shut down because of copyright infringement, but I guess I was wrong.

Re: Zelda OoT 2D

A fun thing is, TRM actually even got a small article in the swedish ´gaming magazine "Superplay" about 3 years ago, after all this trust...
But he had big problems with nintendo after all.

Re: Zelda OoT 2D

That's three years of a 90% finished fan game.
Dosen't sound like a very viable project, does it?
I think there was even some complaints that people had sent in support and funds to help the game development - and the game was basically abandoned, and TRM made off with their money.
I think that very argument was posted in a thread about the game and how TRM cheated them out of money and abused their support a good while ago on these forums...
I can't remember for certain.

You can go search for it if you like.

I've just played the demo that you could download in that website. And I was able to play inside the deku tree dungeon. But the grapics were from LA and not from Lttp.
