Why do some people bother so much.

I recently got pm'd by a member called Destined Hero. I don't even know this guy and he send the pm below randomly.

oh well could you give me a reason why to buy the cube version then???..

i pity you if you cant give me a reasonable one...

and buying both is 1 a waste of money and 2 you probably wont like playing through the same game again...
thus spoiling the experience with the controller (if its the wii version) for the first time..
Now this is what I replied

I don't understand what you mean with "Nintendo promised it to immature fans". Are you telling me that the people who like the cube version are immature? If so, you're going to have quite a lot of people yelling at you. Seems like a very childish remark. I'd like to note that I'm 19 and hardly immature.

Anyhow, It's been raining all day and I have nothing to do, so for your amusement I'll answer your question. I got more than one reason why I'm going for the cube version.

1 The game was intended for gamecube.

The gameplay and puzzles are designed for gamecube controls. This game was designed for gamecube, not a wii. I'll gladly enjoy the next zelda game on the wii though, when they fully implement the wii's functions.

2 This is the last zelda game as we know it.

That's what we've been told, so I'd like to enjoy this game the good old way. After this one it's always going to use the wii controller.

3 The fairy.

It's just a pointer, giving it no meaning story wise. That's worse than navi yelling "HEY" all the time. The fairy will feel like a lifeless object that's just in the screen, distracting you. I' d rather had them use a normal pointer.

4 The camera.

I want to use the C-stick to look at the surroundings. I know you press a button so you can move the camera as well in the wii version, but to my knowledge you can't move Link while doing that.

5 It's my opinion.

It's my choice, I choose what I do myself and nobody should try and stop me from making my own decision.

As for buying both versions being a waste.

I have a job, so I decide if it's a waste of money or not. It will not ruin the gameplay for me either. I've played trough OoT and MM dozens of times and still enjoy every single part of it. I see no reason why it would be different with Twilight Princess, especially since the controller will give me a different experience.

You must understand, I approve of both versions, so this isn't about which one is better. It's which one you prefer, and that's something different for all of us.

PS: Why would you pitty me? I'm just a random person on the internet, that seems a bit sad and a waste of time.
Where am I going with this? Well, why do some people care so much that they start sending pm's to random people on the internet? It's so stupid. Tons of people are going to get a cube version, tons of people are going to get a wii version, and there are probably going to be plenty people buying both versions, so who cares?

With reactions like these were gonna end up with dozens of topics after the game is out, about which one is superiour, while the smart ones will know that neither is superiour and that both games will have better things, and flaws. Of course we're gonna be in the middle when people like this guy start making topics. I've seen it before with other games, and saddnes me. I really don't want to see the community ending up ruined, with stubborn people flaming each other about which one is best.

How do you feel about this?

PS: everyone who read completely through this, you have my respect, since not many bother to try and read something.

Re: Why do some people bother so much.

Don't have a rant about PM's in the Zelda forum. If it really have a problem with it, PM a mod or ask the member if they would refrain using the PM's for that purpose instead of publicly letting it known in the forums.

Locked.
